Malfunction

While I know this card is not as lethal as it should be it should have some decent uses? My question is what happens when....player 1 plays Solemn Judgment in a chain on player 2's RFTTD....to which player 2 chains Malfunction? I think they just screwed the timing up and now RFTTD can resolve.

I don't know about any timing being screwed up, but this chain does end with Return from the Different Dimension resolving.

Link 3 - Malfunction resolves negating Solemn Judgement and Solemn is returned to it's original position.
Link 2 - Solemn Judgment has been negated, so it does not resolve.
Link 1 - Return from the Different Dimension resolves and does what it does.

Note that all payments for both Malfunction and Solemn Judgment still take place.
