Mind Crush

Does the player who activate Mind Crush get to see his/her opponent's hand if the opponent discard 1 card of that declared name from hand? Let's say:

Player A activate Mind Crush, declaring Smashing Ground.
Player B, who has 5 cards in his hand, discard 1 Smashing Ground from his hand.
Now Player A declares a right to check Player B's hand to make sure there is no more Smashing Ground in B's hand.

Is that legal? Or does Player B have a right to refuse because he discards 1 of the declared card already? And what would happen if the declared card is a limited card (e.g. Premature Burial)?

The effect is pretty specific about declared card or "card(s)", so it would seem that if you know already that a card is limited to one, the expectation that you would get to look at your opponents hand to ensure that they discarded 2 Premature Burial Equip Spell Cards to the Graveyard is not possible.

Ick I've been trying to dig up some rulings out of the judge's list because I think there was a similar issue with cards such as Chain Destruction and say Sangan.

Oddly enough, I thought the ruling was that even though the card was restricted to one, the opponent could still search the deck to verify. Can anybody help clarify this one?
