Monster Reborn LOB-EN118

Monster Reborn
Normal Spell

Select 1 monster from either you or your opponent's Graveyard. Special Summon the selected monster on your side of the field.

The first and still the best way to bring a monster back from the Graveyard to the field. No cost needed to activate, no forced way to place the card, no chance for your opponent to bring something back as well. You activate and bring back a monster. On top of all that, it has the added perk of letting you pick one from your graveyard or your opponent's. Like "Pot of Greed", this card was a true staple back in the day and if comes off the banned list, expect it to go back into everyone's deck. There is no downside involving this spell card.

i remember using this card... it was very good, and apparently to the point where it was banned... i can see why though, but still. however, now there are a lot of reborning cards, especially for certain theme decks (zombie, human-wave, umm... yeah).

overall, a really good card.

English Artwork: meh
Japanese Artwork: ^_^ very nice, and mythologically accurate.

Good ridance and I hope it never returns. No longer do I have to fear dumping my monsters in case my opponent steals them from my graveyard. (yes I am aware there ARE other cards that could do this, but none that are commonly come across in tournaments).

Me too. I hope it stays on the ban list. There are no drawbacks to this card whatsoever. No costs, no restrictions and its not a equip spell so the opponent can't destroy the monster later by destroying Monster Reborn itself. So many of the ban cards work so well togther. This one will be great in combination with Delinquent Duo, Dark Hole, Raigeki, Graceful charity.

this card is too easy to use. i have no problem with cards like Premature Burial, because they cost you to use it.

thats also why i am glad that Change of Heart was banned. it sucked when my opponent used this card, and tributed it away for a stronger monster for him.

Amen to that. Certain decks like to dump their own monsters, and this card too easily abuses that feature.

Not too mention that Premature Burial is an equip. If you can't remove the monster, you can remove the card equipped to it. No muss, no fuss.

Hit the road, jack. And don'tcha come back no more.
