need some help before Sat Regionals PLEASE

Injection Fairy Lilly

Sexy Nurse3400
Im playing in the Delaware Regionals this Sat and Im looking to get some advice. Ive had players like Brain Long and Brent Yetter look over it and they had a few ideas but now Im looking for more ideas. This is my first deck and it seems to be working great and your opening hand always leads you down a different path to killing your opponet. They never know whats hitting them and usualy by the third turn they are topdecking... which is really nice. But anyways its the first deck Ive ever made and Id love some adivce

Thanks for all the help!!!

Might want to try the basic speed engine. I'll list them for you.

Gravekeeper's Spy
Apprentice Magician
Mystic Tomato
Giant Rat
Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive

Those are some ideas to add into the deck. If you try out the Mystic Tomato idea, use a couple Newdoria. Combine the possiblities with that Don Zaloog you have in the deck already and it will be a sure way to boost the deck's strength.

And just for tech, you could try out Cannon Soldier with the Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive with the Chaos Sorcerer and possibly side a Bazoo the Soul-Eater and Return from the Different Dimension.

Just some ideas..

We've got a lovely little feature here that autolinks the card names to the Netrep registry so you can see rulings and all that for the cards you post, but it 'only' works when you use the correct name and spelling..lol. I've turned it on for you, but for future reference, when you post a new thread, make sure (if you want to) to uncheck the box at the bottom for autolinking.

My boyfriend stole my deck lol and modified it by adding some mystic t. it works well. I was thinking about doing the same but then id be coying ,lol... i might do it, my deck DOES need a few more searchers. and Mystic would work well... Ive tossed it back and forth alot

I'm gonna be playing in my first regional soon as well. So don't feel like you aren't the only one in the boat. Just keep your chin up and don't get discouraged if you lose a round. Think of why you lost and remember that it's just a game in the end.

Another helpful tid bit of advice is shake your opponent's hand after the match is over with. Whether you win or lose doesn't mean you shouldn't show a sign of sportsmanship by shaking your opponent's hand.

I don't know how well I do, but I have a feeling my deck might have some kind words to say to the competition. Trust me when I say this (and a mere gut feeling) that the games you play in the event will be some of the hardest ones you'll ever have had up until then. So play your cards correctly, don't rush yourself cause that causes sloppy plays, and have a collective mind. I've seen a lot of players in local tournaments break down after losing a key position of advantage.

Two important things to remember when playing this game and it applies to everyone.

"A deck is only as good as the player using it. So just because a deck is flawless in design, doesn't mean it will perform flawlessly. Each player will run the same deck that's card for card differently."

"You generally learn more from your mistakes, misfortunes, and failures. Analyze what went wrong, what factor resulted it, and correct it immediately. Admitting to yourself that you failed means you leave plenty of room for improvement."

I believe that applies to everyone that plays this game. =)

haha thanks for you help everyone... Ive adjusted my deck some... I didnt add the Bottomless- suprisingly enough I had taken out out to put in another dust. I found that I already had alot of monster removal and not enough magic/ trap removal. which is the only thing that will stop this deck from working..... any other ideas would br great and thanks for the words of encouragement they mean alot.... haha Ive played in a fare share of tournaments just not in a regional. I am kinda hasty at times which does hurt me in the end. As my Boyfriend says whos a huge YuGi addict- Ive got the tallent its just that I dont think things through... as long as I think before I play Ill be good. haha Im actually doing alot of research on cards on this site. learning as much as I can about rulings and everything- if I know the mechanics behind the game Ill be good and make top 8. Ive just got to learn the difference between how to use a card and how to play it. ( yes its from YuGiOh GX) but its the truth. Thanks again for your help and any other advice you can give me would be great.

Well, I edited your post to allow Card Auto-Linking. That's why we prefer you call the card by its full name. xD Sorry if I messed up your style, etc. lol, but now I can read it.

just to let you know, I always suggest the same cards and people don't like it so here it is. The Shallow Grave to allow you to bring a Spirit Reaper back face down on the field or use Monster Reincarnation to bring it back to your hand. That way you only need 2 reapers in the deck. Another card I always suggest is Nobleman of Extermination. It is a face down spell/trap killer with special emphasis on traps. Like Nobleman of Crossout works on flip cards, Extermination removes the trap on the field and all like it out of both decks. It is a dangerous move but it sometimes pays off.
I've killed off BTH's and other nasty cards with it in the past. I am also a big fan of Card Destruction. It is a great big pain in the a$$ for your opponent and allows you to get cards in your grave that you can eventually use Premature Burial, Shallow Grave and/or Call of the Haunted on. It works well on getting the big guns onto the field.

If this regional is before EEN is legalized, (which I think is before Dec. 10th/11th) then I wouldn't use Morphing Jar in the main board and wouldn't even consider Card Destruction. One false move and BAM! you lose a ton of advantage from your own card. Not a very good idea IMO.

Just thought I'd like to put that out cause Dark World decks tend to hold onto Sillva and Goldd.

So Im putting up comments on everyones suggestions- Overall Im going to be adding some Mystic Tomato to my deck, for overall deck speed.- the only problem is my dark/ light ratio. trying to figure out what needs to go and what stays. Ive also been looking at the use of Newdoria- the only problem I see is that Ive already have alot of cards in my deck used for the main purpose of monster destruction. Yes it IS a dark monster which is always a plus and 1200 atk. iasnt bad at all. Honestly out of all the ideas these two seem to hit home for what I was looking for. Ive already sided deck a Bazoo the Soul-Eater, and Return from the Different Dimension.
~thanks TKwiget

Goblin Elite Attak Force stays in my deck This is because of my deck synergy, GEAF goes very well with this deck- It destroys Cyber Dragon which alot of people are running in todays format and with 1500 def. its going to have to take a nice card to destroy it, unlike Goblin Attack Force which Spirit Reaper could run over. That stays as for the rest. You suggested getting rid of Spirit Reaper- but for what? The dark/ light ration needs to stay the same for my deck to work and 3 Spirit Reaper hurts an opponet and most dont expect 3 to be played. It messes up the deck synergy again. A thing to note with this format Deck Synergy is KEY. With many games you come to a point in which your top decking and while my deck is designed not to do that to me it still happens once in awhile. With excellent deck synergy when Im top decking 9 times out of 10 I get a card that I need. Making topdecking not such a scary and costly thing. If I had Smashing Ground Id play it, enough said on that. As for Bottomless Trap Hole I had 2 before but after a long and indepth analysis of my deck I found that I already had alot of monster removal cards and not enough M/ T removal so I have Bottomless Trap Hole side decked and my deck has 2 Dust Tornado.
~Thank you for your help Velius

The Shallow Grave- thank god for the linking, lol I had no clue what it was till I read its stats. After reading them to me the idea of your opponet getting a card bothers me. Im not up to helping myself and giving them a card on the field.... can you say D.D. Warrior Lady= kill Spirit Reaper? Cuz we all know thats what they will get if it isnt RFG already.... too risky but if I have three Spirit Reaper and well they dont get anything for it, they only get to sit there and cry as they try to find something to remove him from the field, since their attacks are not going through.... OH and removing cards from their hands. I just love setting 2 Spirit Reapers on an open field and watching my opponets face as they drop their last two CIH. Its a nice expression of I win you lose.. lol. heck I wouldnt care if Spirit Reaper had 100 attack as long as the effect went off. Yeah That card gives too much of an advantage to my opponet and defeats the whole purpose of Spirit Reaper. As for Monster Reincarnation- I see alot of possiblilties for this card and not just for Spirit Reaper. Im going to actually deck test it a bit to see how it works...... Its a good idea and honestly I had totaly forgotten about that card. You dont see much play of it honestly. Shoot I remember playing it when I first started out haha and then I stoped using it. Now I remember why I dont play it... its too costly giving up a card to play it. its a 2 for 1 which isnt good in this format. Im actually more willing to give up life points then cards, Nobleman of Extermination is too costly as well. It cant be chained to anything and theres alot that can be chained to it as well. Most people dont set magic cards unless your like me and you set Heavy Storm on the first turn for a nice 2 for 1. But other then that it isnt god against dark world decks which are going to be a deck seen more often now. Its just not worth removing a Dust Tornado or something else for it. As for Card Destruction..... yeah not happening, that card = I get my butt handed to me with the new dark world deck..... Lol Its actualy in my side deck. Its not a good main deck card but a good side card.
~ thanks sirch1964

The idea of removing 1 Cyber Dragon for Airknight Parshath is something that Ive contemplated for awhile now. When I saw that idea, I kinda hand a major weak moment there and almost did it. I then emediatly called my boyfriend who has taught me the game thus far and has a deck similar to mine. He actualy took my deck and modified it some with the adition of a Mystic Tomato and three Smashing Grounds. His deck works well, in the beging of the format when I had suggested using Airknight Parshath he deck tested it and came to the conclusion that I had been thinking and hoping was wrong. With there being so many Bottomless Trap Holes, and Sakuratsu Armors Airknight is risky. I myself like the comfort of knowing that Cyber Dragon is a SS and does need a tribute.. NEVER EVER TRIBUTE FOR CYBER!!! well only if your going to win the game by doing so. If I play Airknight Im going to lose a card from it and possibly lose Airknight himself. Unlike Mobious which gives me a 2-1 right away when he is played, thanks to that wonderful thing called priority. While gaining cards in this format is a plus Ill say one thing. If an opponet of mine play Airknight Id Sak. its little butt Immediatly. Its too risky of a card to play but I def. did think twice before sanity came into play. He is one of my more favorite cards its just he isnt good in this format.

~Thank you for you help Supreme Switch Blade

As for legalizing EEN, I dont think its alowed to be played in this weekends regionals... I was talking to one of the local Judges who Im said to say doesnt deserve that title at all. He doesnt know anything...... its really sad. heck I know more then him. But anyways.. okay after saying that about him Ive got no clue why I listened to him, lol, but maybe he is right..... MAYBE

Thanks for everyones help!!!

Your right Airknight is a risk, If you build a side deck put him in as a just in case he is needed. I know alot of peopl who do main deck him and it has worked for them, It accually won some of them a regionals.

But only because they were lucky enough to draw Heavy Storm the game winning turn.

take out sorcerer, injection, tsukoyomi, Confiscation (or not, people debate this with me all the time), -Goblin Elite Attack Force.

you need Torrential Tribute

other cards I would recomend:
a second Reinforcement of the Army, a D.D. Survivor. a mystic swordsman lv 2 (or not, it has no field presence but when I took mine out I did horribly), smashing instead of Fissure (chain Scapegoat/Call of the Haunted), and you have two ways to go in terms of staying in control on your opponent's turn.

You use Widespread Ruins and bottomless in addition to sakuretsu and take out Scapegoat or you keep Scapegoat and add in an Enemy Controller or two.

By the way, 20 monsters is way too many, you should keep it at 17 or even 16. I would probably take out 2 Spirit Reapers simply because of your deck's build; 3 reapers is fine depending on the deck but not yours.

If you plan on doing well at regionals I strongly suggest a side deck.

Hope this helps :D
