Woo Hoo!

How many Vegas rats do we have around here?! Or at least those making the glamorous trip to my neck of the woods? I'm off to talk to the TO at the moment, but odds are I should be juding this event and I'd love to meet any of the CoGers that can make it out. Rumor is too that Mr. Haynes will be the head judge of this event, so I'm DEFINITELY going after my L2 at this junction.

I'm report back when I get more info! I hope to see ya there!

While you're talking to the T.O. let him know I'm available <smiling> All I need is a plane ticket and room....not asking much....just everything paid for <laffin>

Who says you need a plane ticket?! You can come chill at my place! The Mrs. makes some MEAN italian chicken and my grillin' skills are getting pretty good 8^D. Seriously though, I will mention you because you never know what happens 8^D

Then we can talk about your application to be a Dark Monarch too 8^D

<Becaue of not thinking ahead you'll see this post in most if not all stickies. Please don't delete or soft delete these messages as they are keeping the stickies in order. Next month I wont need to do this.>

Well, here's a small report about the Vegas Regional. Let me know if you want more info.

The Vegas Regional showing was a bit smaller than most, but still a comfortable number of players, roughly 85. The new meta seems to have changed a lot of things in the game, though most of the same cards are showing up in the decks.

The normal turnout of people from Comic Odyssey and Team Samurai didn't seem to be there, which in some cases was nice, considering there were 2 local players in the top 8 that I know of and 1 in the top 4.

The game seems to have taken a more conservative approach here, but theme decks are showing more exposure. Exiled Force looks to have replaced Tribe Infecting Virus and there are more Dust Tornados and Mobius the Frost Monarchs in the mix. Sakuretsu Armor was often run in doubles to prevent too many monsters on the field. Sangan seems to have grown in immense popularity, with its ability to search out the proper "tool" monster after destruction. One deck I noticed in the Top 2 did a lot of Sangan abuse, tribute, revive, swap, destroy to get at what they wanted in the deck.

The surprise card in most decks: Wave-Motion Cannon. I saw a good number of decks using this spell card and a few of them even running them in multiples for a quick explosion to counter the more conservative play going around.

I'd say a lot of decks at the tourney this weekend were Warrior based decks with a strong sense of Control: D.D. Warrior Lady, D.D. Assailant, Exiled Force, Mystic Swordsman LV2, Airknight, Sangan, Mobius. However, I did see a Gravekeepers deck to pretty decent at the tourney. I also caught sight of an Exodia deck and a Last Turn/Self Destruct deck.

Was anybody else there that would care to report in? The more the merrier!
