Purely Insane Exodia

Purely Insane. Amazingly efficient. Almost guaranteed to get you a win in 5 turns or less. Be amazed at the immense skill (bwahahaha, yeah, right) it takes to win with this deck! Fear the Heart of the Underdog, for this deck alone may get it restricted/banned.

Well, maybe, but funny thing is, when testing this deck out against friends, it doesn't seem to want to lose. It's that scary.

Spells: (6)
3x Heart of the Underdog
3x Reload

Creatures: (34)
3x Archfiend Soldier
3x Gemini Elf
3x Luster Dragon
3x Mad Dog of Darkness
3x Insect Knight
3x Battle Footballer
3x Soul Tiger
3x Charcoal Inpachi
3x Thunder Dragon (Or if you prefer, something else Normal)
2x Illusionist Faceless Mage
1x Exodia the Forbidden One
1x Left Leg of the Forbidden One
1x Left Arm of the Forbidden One
1x Right Arm of the Forbidden One
1x Right Leg of the Forbidden One

How to play this deck:
Draw, Draw, Draw. Win. Reload in the draw phase, it'll trigger Heart of the Underdog with any normal monster it draws. Use Reload as soon as you get it to thin the deck, and just keep drawing as much as you possibly can. Sickeningly efficient and cheesy.
If your opponent is playing stall, you're almost guaranteed to win every single time.

Problems this deck has:
Most aren't big problems, really. Delinquent Duo, Deck Devastation Virus, Card Destruction, Cyber Jar, and Morphing Jar are all limited to 1. The unlikely used Abyssal Designator is taken care of thanks to including two Illusionist Faceless Mages.
Needle Worm is seldom played here, at least for a few more months.
Prohibition can still be a problem, if they prohibit Heart of the Underdog or Reload on the very first turn.
Of course, the unlikelyhood that you'll get a piece of Exodia discarded on the first turn or after still exists, but it's still unlikely to happen. The loss of The Forceful Sentry, and Confiscation especially makes this deck all that much more powerful.
The biggest problem is not drawing a Heart of the Underdog, or Reload in your opening hand, thus getting a slow start, which will most likely kill you, unless your opponent has a slow start too.

Optimal opening hand:
Thunder Dragon, Heart of the Underdog, Reload, and anything else.
Or of course, all 5 Exodia pieces. Like that's likely to happen. ;)

Try it yourself, and laugh loudly at the cheesy brutality that is Heart of the Underdog, and sheer luck. Make your opponents regret ever challenging you and your sheer cheesiness!

you only want reloads and heart of the underdogs, because you cannot play pot and graceful in the draw phase, so they cannot combo with HotU, and, if you draw a Pot/Graceful, you stop the HotU loop

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong here, but "Heart of the Underdog" will ONLY activate if the LAST card drawn by an effect is a Normal Monster. So even if you "Reload" your hand, if the last card drawn is another "Heart of the Underdog", and you didn't draw another "Reload", you're in hurtsville. That's why "Graceful Charity" and "Pot of Greed" would help. Cause if you draw one of them, you can start the "HotU" loop again in that situation.

Just my thoughts.

Skey23 - Heart of the Underdog only works during the Draw Phase.......

oops!..Crud, I got ahead of myself there...lol.
Did that get errata'd?...I'd swear it used to say anytime you draw a Normal Monster Card...lol....oh well.

But still, you're gonna be hurting if you don't draw another Reload amongst the throngs of Normal Monsters you'll be drawing.

It would also help to put 2 or 3 Jar of Greed in it (in a HotU deck JoG is at it's best when it is in your beginning hand).

And Skey, HotU doesn't have an errata, it said it from the very beginning ;)

Yeah, I know...I was being a dumb:eek:. I guess I was thinking of the Judge's List postings regarding "Jar of Greed" and "HotU", but forgot that "Jar of Greed" was activated during the Draw Phase.

Too many rulings and scenarios stuffed into the head of mine..

Phenomenal Yugioh knowledge!...Itty bitty living space! Doesn't work too well sometimes...;)

Why Thunder Dragon on the 1st turn? If you use it's effect and add both of the other's to your hand, then you'd just be reloading them back to the deck. If you use the effect to get one, then use that one to get another, then you'd be reloading one back into the deck.

Unless...**ding!** lightbulb...Can you use it's effect even if you already know there are NO MORE in your deck? Thereby discarding it, just to discard it?

Ah, I missed the part where Heart of the Underdog works only during the Draw Phase.

Which is exactly what you can do. It's a legal move to just dump a Thunder Dragon for its effect, even if you don't have any more in your deck. It's a free deck shuffle in essense, as well. That's the main reason it's in there, though it can be replaced with other normal creatures, of course.

The deck does have some issue against swarm decks as well, but of course, they need to be lucky, just like you need to be lucky getting the opening draw. It's a completely different deck design at the least, and extremely cheesy. ;)

magical Mallet instead reload and (maybe) 3x toon table of contents and a toon goblin attack force

I ran an Exodia HOTU deck before. I didnt like it because exodia decks arent meant to attack or just have high attack monsters out to look pretty. You most likely will not make this deck work all the time, trust me on this. Ive one some duels but most of the time it took a while to get the pieces. Youll lose more than youll win is what Im basically saying. Say you have a HOTU on your field. More than likely, its going to get nuked by MST or Heavy Storm. Also note that you DONT have MOF's in this deck. Good luck with the Exodia HOTU deck!
