Rulings???

so i lost that duel due to my life point being cut in half because of that wait till they find out!!!

Yeah, you got hammered incorrectly. If Bait Doll forces the activation of a trap card and the timing is incorrect, the trap card is destroyed. If the activation of a trap card is correct and there is a cost for activation, then the player pays the cost for activation. In your case, if there were no monsters removed from play, then there is no cost for activation- hence, you lost life points for no reason. Let your friends have it!!!

I am pretty sure that you guys are wrong. The card states "as many monsters as you can" on it. So if there are no monsters out of play, then you "can" only bring zero back. I have had a number of judges rule this way. You would have lost half of your lifepoints.

Thanks

It may say can but its effect clearly states that its used to bring back monsters so if it cant bring back anything its effect cannot resolve properly. if an effect cannot resolve for whatever reason then it cant be activated due to the inability to resolve.

"Can", does not include zero. You cannot activate an effect that does not meet the requirement for activation. You cannot activate Monster Reborn if there are no monsters in your, or your opponent's Graveyard at activation.

You cannot activate Trap Hole if your opponent doesnt summon a monster.

You cannot activate Return from the Different Dimension or Dimension Fusion if you do not have at least one monster removed from play.

And... It doesnt say "as many monsters as you can", it says "as many monsters as possible", which would mean that your opponent may not have any monsters to summon if you activate Dimension Fusion, but that doesnt mean that you can't summon as many as you have possible for summoning.

At least one player must have a monster removed from play to activate this card (Dimension Fusion).

Sorry but they are wrong, as explaind by the 2 previous posts, you have to have at least 1.

Its basicly this...

If the requirements of activation are not met prior to activation then the card cannot be activated.

If the requirements are removed due to another effect chained to an effect you activate then the card that you activated initially resolves without effect.

Simple and basic and that is what this case comes down to as well.
