Shield and Sword?????

very simple.... I went and decided to put this deck together... and these are the cards Im working with in this deck right now... Help me make it better... Seems to run pretty well, but lacks that finishing PUNCH to finish the opponent off... so If you guys can help me to make it more deadly that would be great.....
Strength: Shield and Sword comes in pretty handy and catches my opponent off guard big time... especially with Big Shield Guardna out or Guardian Sphynx..... It attacks and does Fast Damage

Weakness.: It seems to lack the Finishing Move... that last bit of poundage... it is a pretty fast deck, but it seems to be too quick, maybe I just use my resources too quickly... i dunno...

this should have a fairly obvious strategy.... a slight warrior beatdown with an unexpected twist
 
hmm... Didnt think of that..... That would be a rather unpleasant surprise too.... hmmm..

I may just use that... I would just have to figure out what to remove... probably some DDs.... ??
 
Have you tried Weapon Change? It might give you better chances of using the Big Shield's as attackers. Also I would greatly suggest Labyrinth of Nightmare so that you don't end the round with Big Shield in attack position.

Book of Moon would be a good idea. To help keep Big Shield alive. The Shallow Grave is too much at 3, early game chances are too high you'll get a dead hand. And at 8 traps with Jinzo you can easily limit your own options a bit too much. Try the Needle Ceiling without the Torrential Tribute for example. With a lot of monsters that you are going to be setting you can cook off your opponent without hurting yourself much.

Continuous Destruction Punch will make your opponent think twice about attacking what could be a Big Shield Guardna. And I'd probably try switching out the D.D.'s for something that better fits the theme like Gear Golem the Moving Fortress.
 
actauly Weapon Change is not that great with what your trying to accomplish.


of course its all the same in the end, but the simple fact taht Weapon Change is a Continous Spell card makes it more a dead weight than a normal spell card.


its why Shield & Sword is much better.

you use it, you live on with it.

a deck that uses its defense for its offense is usually something you dont want to constantly moving, only 1-3 times here and there for insane numbers.

it also depends on which list you will be playing this deck in, current list itll have a bit of a tough time but the next list, I dont know, it can be a very hard to deck to beat up.

well the fact people stoped playing Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke makes the deck alot playable. :)
 
Its going to definitely be for the Next ban List... hence the Dark Hole and the lack of Graceful Charity... .. oh .. and Confiscation of course.... I made a couple changes... I took out the D. D. Assailants for 2 Gear Golem the Moving Fortress ... and I took out my 2 Reinforcement of the Army for 2 Limiter Removal...

I dont have a real Gear Golem right now, so Im proxying them in.. but it seems to be pretty tough, especially when I get that Limiter Removal and spring 4400 lifepoints ATK directly on them...

The 3 Shallow Graves seem to work good for bringing back Cyber Jar and Morphing Jar.... .. gives me a bit of a draw engine, also it lets me draw down their deck quite a bit.... limiting their options as well.... However, I decided to drop it to 2 , and add a Card Destruction.... reason being that I tried it out and got my friend's had up to 12 cards, then Card Destruction... .. of course I waited till my hand was low before I did it... but it dumped alot of useful cards in the graveyard.... Deck seems to be more solid with the Gear Golem the Moving Fortresses in there with Limiter Removal... I like the feel.... Im going to try it out more and see what it feels like, ... please keep the suggestions coming...

Oh ya.. i took out D. D. Warrior Lady.... she seemed to be a hinderance and slowed things down... good card but she was a pain... we will see how it runs.. i just wanted to get it to 42 cards, and she was the most situational card, and i thought about using her more than i thought about other cards.... so ya

I've been running a similar deck but all machines with the addtion of Mechanical Chasers, Roulette Barrel, and BLS (yeah, I know BLS <gag!> but there is just too nice of a balance of lights and darks in my deck not to)

One overlooked possibility in a deck with a good amount of high def. monsters is using a Robin Goblin. While you may very well soon be limited to 1 Limiter Removal, most others will be losing the big hand advantage cards. A Robin Goblin with high def. monsters is going to make your opponent think twice before attacking a face down monster. In the second game you start setting your MOF with Robin Goblin face up on the field ....and then you ask the question <best Clint Eastwood voice> Well?.....Do ya feel lucky punk?.......Do ya?" <smirk>

Update: .... this deck has seemed to be competitive lately. People are side decking like crazy for it. I think the major weakness lately has been the swarming capabilities of Zombies,,,, Mobius, and Horus .... but i dont really worry too much unless they get Chaos out, or Dark Ruler Ha Des... he is bigger than most of my defenses... lol.... It still lacks that finishing punch... especially since Limiter Removal is limited to 1...

That's when you can side deck the Millenium Shields, Laybrinth Walls, and Giant Rats. Let his Ryu Kokki and Vampire Lord try to punch through 3000 def.!

I've found a Messenger of the Peace or two give me the time I need to assemble my troops and get a Shield & Sword and a Giant Trunade if not a Limiter Removal. After the attack with Shield & Sword I can plop down Messenger of the Peace as well and recover my vunerable monsters.
