Simorgh Burn? You tell me...

I'm not sure if this is workable or not. I haven't done any playtesting with it, but it seems ok on paper. Feel free to hack it to bits and let's see what we can do with it...

I would suggest that you drop the Cannons. There's a lot of Spell / Trap removal out there, especially in side decks, and on top of that, you can't use Giant Trunade when you have a Cannon out. Also, three Yaes, seems excessive since she isn't Winged-Beast and doesn't have enough ATK to be useful.

+1 Premie (Trunade abuse)
+1 Messenger of Peace (Can be trunaded when you're done with it and want to attack, then used again later)
 
try out ring of destuction and barrel behind the door... since there may be a possibility where you get the burn from simorgh... or you can ring your opp and then barrel for double the dmg... use more des koala... since ur gonna get ur opps m/ts back in his hand he'll have more in his hand... make him pay for it, if you use chain energy then he'll have to play his cards back down costing him more... and if opp commits alot of m/t's then use princess of tsurugi. iunno if sonic shooter is such a good idea... but i wonder if you equip sonic shooter with an equip card like axe of despair... if he does 2300 dmg then his atk becaomes 2300 because he did 2300 dmg and his effect says his atk becomes the dmg it did... then everytime u atk it goes up by 1000... gradually it'll be a powerhouse... at like 4000 your can ring and barrel it for game. anwyays just throwing out some ideas... as you can see im a fan of the ring and barrel combo. lol

Totally wrong.

We already had a thread where someone posed the same idea. It isn't possible. I suggest you re-read the text of Sonic Shooter. It says that the damage he deals becomes his original ATK. "Becomes" is an intransitive verb. It doesn't show a connection between the the subject and the object of the sentence. No matter what anyone tells you, the DAMAGE becomes the ATK, not the ATK becomes the DAMAGE.

Ah, no, wrong. We've had this discussion already.

The Battle Damage Sonic Shooter will inflict by attacking directly by its effect is dependant upon, and is set to the be the value equal to its Original ATK (usually 1300, unless modified with Megamorph, etc.). Equip Cards and other ATK modifiers mean nothing here.

"Becomes" in its card text does not mean "turns into". It means "will be an amount that is equal to". (If you understand that. It's a confusing way of saying it.)
 
no i dont understand... but w.e it was just an thought anyways, and no i wasnt there for your lil discussion so dont say it like im supposed to know it.
 
It's mostly common sense to check the rulings of a card, though, even if the effect seems simple. The Rulings section of this forum is a great place for that. It even has a handy Search option.

Are you implying that the rulings would even need to be consulted?

I don't mean this in a derisive way, but I honestly wish I could understand why people think this card is so confusing. This is not about rulings. It's about the card text itself. If I say "I become angry" I don't mean that angry turns into me, I mean that I, myself, become angry. "Becomes" is a word that only works one way. There really is not any other way to interpret that text.

I would have said something to that effect, but I didn't want to sound rude. It too took me a great deal of effort to see the misinterpretation of the card.

well jason, speaking from an immigrants point of view, that interpretation sounds the same to me... so wherever you learnt to disect the diff meanings on how words are applied you know thats great, but to me its normally the obvious meaning... i didnt think i had to consult an english teacher to better understand the ruling of the card simply from the text describtion. anyways moving on, lets not spam this thread.
edit: i dont wanna sound mean either but you ahve to understand what kind of people that come here... i mean i dont know every card by hand... i know alot but not all... and it may be common where i could have overlooked or misunderstood the wording of a card... netrep.net doesnt even have rulings for sonic shooter so yah, how was i supposed to know?! ...there are instances where 'become' does actually mean 'turn into' so yah...
edit2: 'I become angry' obviously doesnt mean 'angry turns into me' but it does mean 'I turn angry', or am i wrong again?
