Skull-mark ladybug and Painful Choice

If I select 3 skull-mark ladybugs and two other cards on painful choice's effect do the skull-marks that go to the graveyard after my opponent selects 1 of the cards still give me the 1000 life point gain.


Skull-mark ladybug
Effect Monster (insect/earth/4 star/atk 500/ def 1500)
When this card is sent to the graveyard, increase your life points by 1000 points.

Painful Choice
Normal Spell
select 5 cards from your deck and show them to your opponent. Your opponent selects 1 card among them. Add that card to your hand and discard the remaining cards to the graveyard.

yes, that definitely works. So far i haven't heard of any errata on skull mark ladybug so since the card said 'sent to the graveyard' without specifying any restrictions, it works.
