Solemn Judgment vs. Dark World Monster

Another good rulings question:

1. Turn Player's "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World" is discarded due to opponent's card effect. Can opponent activate "Solemn Judgment" to negate the special summon of Goldd?

2. Turn Player's "Goldd" is discarded due to TP's "Card Destruction". Can opponent activate "Solemn Judgment" to negate the special summon of Goldd?

Thanks for the link. I searched the site earlier and didn't find it.

For those of you that didn't read the link, remember "Solemn Judgment" cannot negate the effects of monster cards that summon other monsters or themselves. "Solemn Judgment" cannot be used in either case above.

"Solemn Judgment" can negate the special summon of a monster that has special summon criteria such as "Chaos Sorceror", "Dark Necrofear" or "Cyber Dragon".

"Missing the timing" due to other Dark World effects has nothing to do with whether or not "Solemn Judgment" works in this case.

You can refer to the ruling of "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" vs. "Solemn Judgment" and "Horn of Heaven".

"Solemn Judgment" would have to negate the monster effect and it has no way to do that. It can only negate Spells, Traps, and Regular Summons from the hand (except by the effect of another monster, like "Marauding Captain").
