Say I activate Spiritualism, and pick a face down M/T, I know they can chain to the activation, but can they say activate a Magic Drain, which everyone knows is a speed spell 3. Please enlighten me on this... Trying to put a deck together for a tournament, and trying to work some things.....Greg

The activation and effect of Spiritualism can't be negated, so your opponent can't chain Magic Drain.

But just to be on the save side, my opponent can still chain to the activation, correct? Like Ceasefire or right of destruction. If I just so happen to select it....

You can chain to the activation of Spiritualism with the card that is targeted, as long as its activation is correct.
