T.E.R vs Enemy Controller

Player 1 summons Sinister Serpent, activates Metamorphosis, and special summons Thousand Eyes Restrict -- then targets Player 2's face up BLS.

Player 2 activates Enemy Controller, tributes a goat token and specifies Thousand Eyes Restrict as a the target.



1) Does Player 2 take control of TER, before it can equip itself with the opponent's BLS?

Or,

2) Does Player 2 takes control of TER after it Player 1 has equipped BLS to TER?


I thought #1 -- but wAnted to make sure.

From the Judge's List:

"Here's an odd one that came up during a recent Regional tournament..

Player A controls Thousand-Eyes Restrict and uses its ignition effect targetting one of Player B's face-down monsters.

In a chain with that effect, Player B activates Enemy Controller, choosing the second effect, sacrificing a (different) monster and targetting Thousand-Eyes Restrict.

So the chain resolves: Enemy Controller -> Thousand-Eyes Restrict

Enemy Controller takes control of Thousand-Eyes Restrict but what happens to the monster targeted with the Thousand-Eyes Restrict effect? I would think it'd still be equipped to Thousand-Eyes Restrict but I'm honestly not sure.

Clear this up for me?
