if sangan is equipped to ter and then it somehow ends up in the graveyard, doesn't matter how, to owner will search, correct.

correct. coz it died from TER's effect as an equip card.

I'm not sure what you mean to imply by that Inuyasha, but it doesn't sound like you understood his question correctly, correct me if I'm wrong.
All Sangan has to do is get sent to the Graveyard from the field to activate its effect. Whether it was an equip when it left the field has no bearing on it since it will be a monster once it hits the Graveyard, where its effect activates. And its the owner of Sangan who gets to search, since thats who's Graveyard it will be in when it activates.
