Two "activation" Q

Do you choose the spaces for Ground Collapse at the activation or resolution? (let's say I chain my opponent's Ground Collapse with Scapegoat while I already have one monster on my side of the field)

Do you declare the level for Reasoning at the activation or resolution? (for chaining Fruit of ...'s Study to my own Reasoning)

Thx for answering...

You choose upon resolution, you can't choose a space that is occupied. So when it resolves, you can see whats available.

You don't declare the level, your opponent declares the level. When Reasoning resolves, the number is declared.

The following is taken from the Rules Achieves.....

An interesting situation has been given to me about Scapegoat and Ground Collapse.

It is Player B's turn and Player A has no monsters on the field and a set spell/ trap card, and Player B activates Ground Collapse with the intention of destroying two of Player A's monster zones. Player A then chains Scapegoat to the Ground Collapse and Player B doesn't respond. The chain resolves and the Sheep Tokens are Special Summoned to the field. The problem however comes when Ground Collapse resolves. Player A only has 1 viable target to Ground Collapse's effect. Assuming that Player B has at least 1 free monster zone, what happens? Will its effect disappear and it stay on the field meaninglessly or will Player B have to select 1 of their own monster zones due to there not being enough spaces on Player A's side of the field.

Answer:

If a Sheep Token would be placed into a monster zone Player B had selected when they activated "Ground Collapse," when the Sheep Token occupying it is removed from the field the monster zone will become off-limits.

The effect of "Ground Collapse" doesnt disappear.
