UFOroid CRV-EN010

UFOroid
Effect Monster (Machine / LIGHT / 6 Stars / ATK 1200 / DEF 1200)

When this card is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon from your Deck 1 Machine-Type monster with an ATK of 1500 or less in face-up Attack Position. Then shuffle your Deck.

"¢ If "UFOroid" attacks an Attack Position "Pyramid Turtle", first the turn player decides whether to activate the effect of "UFOroid" or not, and if he does, it will be Chain Link 1. If he doesn't, the opponent has a chance to activate "Pyramid Turtle's" effect and be Chain Link 1. If he does, it is too late for the turn player to decide to activate "UFOroid's" effect.

"¢ If you do not choose to Special Summon a Machine, this card's effect will not activate or start a chain.

Ah, UFOroid. The worlds worst searcher, IMO. He's a Tribute monster searcher via battle. His only truly good purpose is forming UFOroid Fighter. Some may criticize my review as being narrow-minded, but I honestly can't see UFOroid being worth the investment.

This card comboes with Power Bond and any Warrior-type monster. Imagine a Power Bonded UFOroid Fighter fused from UFOroid and Gate Guardian. That's 9900 ATK. Usually, that's a game ender.

This cards good sides are few. It gives you maintained field presence, but if they ram something like a Pyramid Turtle into it, you new monster won't do much good. The best thing it has going for it is that it itself can be pulled by Shining Angel, sneaking around Tributing for it.

This card is a bad card in several aspects. It's a 1200/1200 6-star, so it's not really worth the tribute. Granted, it can be Metamorphosised into Ryu Senshi, but so can Jinzo, and he's a 2400 ATK beatstick. It's a pathetic topdeck, unless you have Power Bond set and a Warrior of some type. But what are the odds on that?

This card, when playing with it, try to keep it in your deck. That's where it's of the most use.
If it's in your hand, get it into your deck somehow.

This card belongs in Power Bond decks and can possibly help out XYZ decks, but it's rentsy.

Advanced: 2/5
Traditional: 1/5
Sealed Pack: 0/5 Unless you pull Power Bond and UFOroid Fighter, this is a dead pull.
Limited: 1/5

I'm no machine guy, but I'm thinking UFOroid might come in best after a Limiter Destruction comboed with Last Will, or after a tribute summon. Last Will is your best friend in a lot of regards this way. That way you don't have to "pay the piper" and can get his searching prowess.

Yeah, Last Will is your friend here... but... it would seem that Shining Angel or Mystic Tomato would be more effective based on whether you're running Light or Dark Machines. I know this isn't attribute dependant but still. If they made it like Pyramid Turtle (2000 DEF or even a 2000 ATK), it still would be bad but at least it would be more useful than it is now. Besides, tribute him to the field and watch me run a D. D. Crazy Beast into it... oops... no effect.

you know I can see UFOroid being used in water decks .... or even ALO Machine decks to bring out Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 ... use him to bring that out.... use limiter or whatever you want to boost him... and as long as ALO or Umi is out on the field you get to do some really hefty damage......
