Wi Fi connection?

seriously, does nintendo think that Wifi to a server that contains data to all their games is smart?

ROM's and Flash Cards alone kill alot of nintendo's properties.

i wont say that i my self have but, i have heard of people that Download Said Rom before it is even released world wide.

I wonder, was hacking into thier database impossible before this concept? I mean, even the government gets hacked. Nintendo might have better sceurity though. ;)

Emulators are actually illegal, so yeah, people do download and play them, but it's not legal. It's kinda like saying "What's the point in selling a CD at a store if people download it anyways?" Why not have their games downloadable through the Revolution? Unfortunately I believe they already mentioned that it wasn't going to be a free service, you would have to pay for the games, but it is a neat idea and it does make their system "backwards compatable" per se, which is what they were aiming for.

Keep in mind that the 360 is saying that they'll be offering a similar service, if you're worried about people hacking the Nintendo database, then why not worry about people hacking the 360 database?

would belive that the disks for xbox would be compatible with X360.

but, come on, if you put a service like that up the lines its bound to be hack legible. not to mention, how much is each download going to cost you?

will it still be the same price for the cartridge or will it be lets say 5 dollars a Download?

and how much will the console its self cost.

and what will it provide a 120 gb harddrive? or just access to the file on a server?

the person who created the xbox made a system called the phantom and all the games are downloaded to the console.

thats a defenite DJ.

if its really cheap then nobody will care, but if it comes down to 30 per game you better belive itll get hacked.

AT $30 dolars per game, I'd be better off buying them used. I've been playing games at about 7 years off anyway. I'm just now playing the last of the Playstation games like they were new. And I only pay one to five bukcs a game. Sure I'm behind, but to me they are the first time I've seen them. I'll probably be buying five dollar copies of Halo II right around the time the Playstation Holodeck comes out. :D

The games the last I heard were going to be like a buck each or something like that, nothing really pricy. Also, the 360 isn't guaranteed to be backwards compatable to the first X-Box. They've dodged that issue so many times it's not even funny and then finally they said at E3 that it would be "Backwards Compatable to best sellers." They didn't say all games, just best sellers, so that leads me to believe that it won't be compatable with the first X-Box and that they'll allow you to download games like Halo and what not.

But even if that's not the case, they are having an extensive online database that people can update their information on, some private information, so yes. Anything is hackable, but what Nintendo is doing is just allowing people to download their games for a small price. It'd be easier to just download an emulator (even though it's illegal, I'm not saying anyone should do it) and get the game that way rather then hack the database. Hacking the database is pretty much over kill. It'd be more worth hacking the 360 database.

oh defenetly.

but yea if its dirt cheap for the revolution then you will see people jump on it like nothing.

cause who wouldnt want to play the oldschool megaman games though they have the aniversery collection out already or the chrono cross games.

and also, did they mention they are putting all games or just all American Released games.

because i know there were some japanese games that never made it to this side of the neighborhood.

Ahem. Don't you mean the Playstation 64? They don't seem to be much into catchy titles.

It'll be Nintendo who does the "Holodeck"....... And I'll be 1st in line to buy it too.... (assuming I'm still alive by then) lol

the holodeck i think he is reffering to is the PS2 comercial were they talk about a PS9 were its a Sphere that shoots out Holographics images.

or atleast i think.

Really? Never seen that one. Sorry. Sounds interesting though...

If it doesn't take too long to download, do you know of any place where I could se it online? (or if its still on TV, what channel, and around what time does it come on?)

it used to be on TV way before the PS2 came out and when it had just been released, it was actually preaty good graphically and everything.

i really enjoyed watching that comercial.

Emulators aren't illegal. It's the ROMs on your computer that are illegal. In fact, several years ago there was a company selling a PSX emulator. The best Sony could do was buy them out.

Yeah the Revolution should have some fun features and probably the best graphics. We'll see about this whole WiFi server thing. Plus they are dumb enough to do it I mean xbox put a hard drive that lets you copy games to it. Its just asking you to rent and copy games. But then again I'm just a Nintendo/PC guy.
