My friend at my local tournament wants to make a OTK deck and wants to use a woodland sprite and a archfiend of gilfer. Will sending archfiend of gilfer to the graveyard with woodland sprite over and over again make an OTK? I say no since the last thing to happen is the opponent losing 500 LP from woodland sprite so the time has past to get back archfiend of gilfer right?

Correct, the timing has passed. It's actually because of "Woodland Sprite" that that ruling was created in order to prevent such an occurance.
