    Wave-Motion Cannon

I suffer from a similar source. Except mine is because of my hobby: tabletop game design.

    Wave-Motion Cannon

It happens to me all the time. Welcome to my world. =) EDIT: Wave-Motion Cannon has no condition. Counting Standby Phases isn't a condition. It's the method in which the player determines the effect damage. This is part of the effect.

    Wave-Motion Cannon

Lol, some things wrong here. Wave-Motion Cannon doesn't have any kind of effect that generates Counters of any kind. Wave-Motion Cannon has no card activation effect. It only has one effect. That's simple to determine: it deals damage. Sending it to the Graveyard is an effect activation...

    Missing the timing?

I rather use the word "apply" so it doesn't confuse people with Trigger Effects. But I do understand what you're getting at John. Gearfried is the first thing to come to my mind when you say that.

    Missing the timing?

Actually it's pretty important to the discussion. We're talking about whether Life Point changes create response points. Continous Effects never have ever had activation points. If they did, then you wouldn't have effects like Fire Princess that would apply 500 damage to a player when a chain...

    Missing the timing?

Um, say that to Divine Wrath. You can activate the effect of "Divine Wrath" to a Flip Effect, Ignition Effect, Trigger Effect, or Multi-Trigger Effect. But not to a Continuous Effect. This is because Continuous Effects cannot be chained to. And then to Fire Princess. If you have a face-up...

    Missing the timing?

Give an example of a card that activates in response to when a player loses or gains Life Points. I really am curious if there's any card that does.

    Wave-Motion Cannon

I think he simply ment that it's the only continous spell card that doesn't require to be on the field in order for it to resolve its effect. Examples of continous spell cards that use the chain block that require to be face up on the field when they resolve would be Stumbling and Ectoplasmer...

    Missing the timing?

It is a game event in which you can respond to. Other wise this card would make no sense and be rather pointless to have in the game. Also, as Andrew mentioned about Mysterious Puppeteer. This makes it a lot different if the card activates in response to a monster being summoned; which that...

Pole Postion Vs Anteatereatingant (say that 10x fast)

<rings in to answer the question> What is 'Lack of Sugar', Alex? <drinks his Pepsi and munches on his crackers> Sleep isn't an issue. I've went to events and judged off of five hours of sleep and preformed excellently. Sleep has never been an issue for me in making rulings. I think the...

Pole Postion Vs Anteatereatingant (say that 10x fast)

Apparently I've been having trouble understanding even some of the most basic things in this game lately. What's annoying me the most about it is that I don't know why. =/

Pole Postion Vs Anteatereatingant (say that 10x fast)

Skey, he said that sending the two Spell/Trap cards for Ant would "Trigger" the effect of Pole Position. I already know that Pole Position's second effect doesn't use the chain. It's applied after Ant is summoned.

heavy mech support platform & spell canceller

You can equip Spell Canceller with Heavy Mech Support Platform. However, Heavy Mech will then be negated.

Pole Postion Vs Anteatereatingant (say that 10x fast)

This looks wrong IMO. Pole Position can't activate in the middle of Anteatereatingant's Summon Condition being resolved. When Anteatereatingant is summoned Pole Position is then applied on the field. So both monsters would be destroyed in this case.

    Missing the timing?

This is wrong. Continous Effects don't use the chain, thus the response window you would have in response to the Special Summon is still valid for Bottomless Trap Hole. Also, cuzwbd, stop spamming please.

Videos: Worlds 2005/2006, Fall 2006 OCG

It's interesting how in the China OCG clips that all the players used the paper playmats.

    hmmm....swords & canceller....

Because even if the effect is negated, "This card remains face-up on the field for 3 of your opponent's turns." is a condition that the card creates when it activates and resolves successfully on the field. It isn't an effect. Swords of Revealing Light only has two effects. Flipping face down...

sand moth vs. share the pain

Tribute doesn't mean the same thing as destroy. Share the Pain doesn't destroy a monster.

    Enchanted Javelin (DB1-EN077) Normal Trap

This doesn't contribute anything to the discussion. Please quit spamming. John Danker has already given you a warning about this in a previous thread. Please refer to the thread about Wave-Motion Cannon if you don't know where it's located. I don't remember Enchanted Javelin having any...

    Wave-Motion Cannon

Wave-Motion Cannon doesn't have a Continous Effect. Send this card on the field to the Graveyard during your Main Phase. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the number of your Standby Phases that have passed after this card's activation x 1000 points. Counting Standby...
