You are correct. After you declare your attack, you (as the Turn Player) have Priority to respond to your own attack first. You do not need to wait and see if your opponent is going to activate anything.

densetsu is correct. You can chaing them back to back. Nothing has resolved yet. All you've done is activate a card. Paying the cost for that activation doesn't change the last thing to have resolved.

"Convulsion of Nature" and "Reversal Quiz". The deck will flip over in the middle of the resolution of "Reversal Quiz" because "Convulsion of Nature" left the field. There's an example of a continuous effect turning off mid-effect-resolution.

If you've purchased any of the latest Structure Decks, they've all come with Version 6.0 of the Rulebook. Starting on Page 11 of said rulebook, you'll find some very nice descriptions of how to tell what monster has what kind of effect. They even give you examples of the card text to look for...

The effect 'appears' to be a Triggered Effect. As such, I would 'assume' it would use the chain. If presented with this question at a tournament, I would have to say yes, you could chain with "Barrel Behind the Door".
