A Feint Plan rulings VS Guardian Kay'est rulings.

Ok I'm not sure why the rulings are like this but please, someone explain it to me.

A Feint Plan: TextA player cannot attack face-down monsters during this turn.RulingsIf "A Feint Plan" is activated and you control only face-down monsters, your opponent cannot attack any of your monsters and they cannot attack your Life Points directly either.

Guardian Kay'est:

Text

This card can only be Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned when there is a "Rod of Silence - Kay'est" on your side of the field. This card is unaffected by any Spell Cards. Also, this card cannot be an attack target of your opponent's monsters

Rulings

Your opponent cannot select "Guardian Kay'est" as the target of an attack.
If "Guardian Kay'est" is your only monster on the field, your opponent can attack your Life Points directly.

Now someone tell me why that makes any sense. Because if you ask me they both do the same thing.

Someone please explain or tell Upperdeck to fix it.

Well, I tried to always see this from a very special perspective.
Guardian Kay'est removes itself as a possible attack target, similiar like The Legendary Fisherman, when Umi is also on the field.

A Feint Plan and other cards with similiar effects, like Marauding Captain or Solar Flare Dragon shift the attack target. They don't 'remove' attack targets, they only say 'you have to pick another target'.

So there are still a lot of legal attack targets, but your opponent can't choose one of them, because he has to shift the target all the time. This is the difference compared to The Legendary Fisherman and stuff like that, they don't try to shift the attack target, they just 'disappear' as a possible attack target.

Sorry, I can't explain this all too good, you have to think about it and come to the conclusion... D'Oh... -.-

Hope that helped... ^^

Maybe...

Well ok so what if I had 2 Guardian Kay'est on the field face up? Would that make them a possible target? or what if I put down something like Command Knight...

Still, they wouldn't be a possible attack target, in this special case, both of them would just 'disappear' as possible attack targets, so your opponent could still attack directly.

or what if I put down something like Command Knight...

In this case, your opponent couldn't attack. There's still a possible attack target that doesn't 'remove' itself, because Command Knight only tries to 'shift' the attack target.

Since your opponent isn't able to choose a legal attack target, he's not allowed to attack.
