barel behindth door

If a card is activated by either player that inflicts direct damage to life points, you chain to it by activating Barrel Behind the Door which stops the damage on you and sends it back at your opponent.

Example:

Player A activates Ring of Destruction on Dark Ruler Ha Des' (2450 atk)
Player B chains and activates Barrel Behind the Door to counter RoD.

Resolving: Player A loses an additional 2450 life points along with the 2450 that they inflicted on themselves. a nifty 4900.

get it?

  • You can only activate this card when an effect that inflicts damage to your Life Points is activated (except Battle Damage). Switch the Effect Damage you receive to your opponent's Life Points.

Despite the wording it can only be chained to the initial activation of a card.

That card must know at activation that its going to inflict damage to your lifepoints assuming no other cards are chained.

If you are chaining it to a Spell/Trap Card it must be directly chained to the activation of the card itself that is dealing the damage.

If you are chaining it to a Monster Effect, you can chain it to any chainable effect. This includes: Ignition, Trigger, Optional Trigger or Multi-Trigger Effects.

In both cases it must be a known amount of damage that is going to be inflicted. So, effects such as Dice Jar's, in which it is unknown who will recieve the damage or whether any damage will be inflicted at all, are not legal for Barrel Behind the Door.

Hope that helps
