Card Destruction
Normal Spell

You and your opponent discard your entire hands and draw the same number of cards from your respective Decks that you discarded.

Question: Are the cards sent to the graveyard by this cards effect destroyed or simply discarded? If simply discarded, why the misleading card title?

They are merely send to the graveyard. They are not destroyed. And as for the title, that is what they decided to call it. Might as well ask "Why is a driveway named a driveway when all you do is park on it? and why is a parkway call a parkway when all you do is drive on it?" ;)

(LOL) And what of Turnpikes?? Maybe this misleading card title comes from the trouble of translation?

In Japan, Card Destruction was titled "Hand Obliteration", Barrel Dragon in Japan was called "Revolver Dragon", and Jinzo in Japan was called "Android Psycho Shocker" <---dat name was cool.

Now, there you go. "Hand Obliteration" is a much better name for the card. And "Android Psycho Shocker" tis' a cool name!
