Optional Effects only "miss the timing" when they trigger their effects. Not when they resolve them after they have already triggered.
All three copies of
Card of Safe Return trigger simultaneously when a monster is Special Summoned. There is no reason for them to miss the tiing in this instance because the last thing to happen was the Special SUmmon of a monster from the Graveyard. Now that they have al triggered they are each going to resolve.
this is just like when you have tree copies of
Heart of the Underdog in play. Just like the rulings say, when you draw a Normal Monster Card all three effects trigger at the same time. Becuase the last thing to happen was the drawing of a Normal Monster Card. The three effects form a chain. Links 1, 2 and 3.
Now if you draw another Normal Monster Card during link 3 and 2 you miss the timing. Because the chain hasn't fully resolved yet. But if you draw a Normal Monster for Chain Link1, the last link in the current chain, then that's the last thing to have happened and all three copies will trigger again.
Pinch Hopper doesn't really apply here. He misses his timing just like any other optional effect. If he gets sent to the Graveyard and something happens before his effect can resolve then it doesn't happen. Like if you tribute him for a summon or an effect. But there are not multiple copies trying to trigger here.
As long as the last thing to happen is the event that triggers an optional effect, then all relevent optional effects will trigger. You can't "miss the timning" of a card's resolution.
