Colossal v colossal

Just making sure I have a correct understanding of what will happen (in case it comes up).

Player A has Colossal in face up attack.

Player B has Colossal in face up defence.

It is player A's turn and he attacks and destroys player B's Colossal.

I am assuming that both players want to activate the respective effects.

Two effects go on the chain. (SEGOC?)

Player B's Colossal is a mandatory effect and therefore is step 1

Player A's Colossal has an optional effect and therefore goes on as step 2.

Working backwards

Player A's Colossal activates it's effect and special summons Player B's Colossal from the graveyard.

Will Player B's Colossal still get its effect assuming there is an appropriate target/ or will it miss the timing?

Or have I got it completely wrong?

All help and advice much appreciated.

Colossal Fighter
Effect Monster (Warrior / DARK / 8 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 1000)
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
This card gains 100 ATK for every Warrior-Type monster in any Graveyard. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 Warrior-Type monster from either player's Graveyard.

There are two effects to this card. The first is a continuous effect that boosts the ATK of the card while it is face-up on the field, and the second is a trigger effect that activates when it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. The owner of Colossal Fighter will get the Summoning effect, since it activates in their Graveyard.

The turn player is player A, and the non-turn player is player B.

The turn player's Attack Position Colossal Fighter attacks and destroys the non-turn player's Defence Position Colossal Fighter and sends it to the Graveyard. The owner of the destroyed Colossal Fighter (presumably the non-turn player) will then get its Summoning effect.

The effect is mandatory, and goes on Chain Link 1 and targets 1 Warrior-type monster in either Graveyard. When it resolves, the targeted monster will be Special Summoned under the non-turn player's control (the player who owns the destroyed Colossal Fighter).

I have to say you got the scenario completely wrong, likely because you misread the effect. It's a lot simpler than you made it out to be.

The turn player controls (and owns) Goyo Guardian. The non-turn player controls (and owns) Colossal Fighter.

Goyo Guardian attacks and destroys Colossal Fighter, without being destroyed itself. There are two effects wanting to take place at the same time, so it's a SEGOC matter.

Chain Link 1: Colossal Fighter, because it's mandatory.
Chain Link 2: Goyo Guardian, because it's optional.

Both effects are targeting the same monster, Colossal Fighter. Now resolve.

Goyo Guardian's effect resolves and Special Summons Colossal Fighter under the turn player's control. Colossal Fighter's effect tries to resolve, but its target is no longer in the Graveyard, so the effect disappears.

The turn player ends up with the benefit.

If the non-turn player was clever, he would have picked a different Warrior-type monster in a Graveyard to Summon, since he should know Goyo Guardian's effect will triumph if he picks Colossal Fighter.
