Don't know if it's real or an elaborate ruse, but it looks pretty real to me (the gold foil is hokey, though -- looks like something I'd cook up on the PC). And as I commented over there, if it does turn out to be real, it's an ingenious strategy to get people to go to the SJCs next year.

I know I will. It's the only card I've really really really wanted to have that I don't already.

Keep in mind that there are people that can make a VERY real looking fake card. You're reading a post by someone that can do that right now. Combine a really good fake with a camera instead of a scanner, and you've got yourself a doozy of a rumor.
 
Well it could be one heck of a fake, but it also could be real. Mistakes like that happen... but isn't it far to early to even be printing the next SJC card? However, if it is real.... :woot
 
One of the people there commented that the text was not changed into English. They changed the text on Last Will and Heavy Slump. Why not on Crush Card Virus?

Of course, this is Konami / UDE. It could just be an inconsistancy. But the whole thing is rather dubious. Wouldn't they be extra careful with a card like this?
 
They didn't change the text on deck devastation virus.

Nor in the attribute circles.

Off hand, I believe they haven't changed Characters that stand alone.

ETA: UGH, it's a card that counts turns, yet there is no Counting Number for the number of turns.
 
That name color is still bothering me quite a bit. For kicks, I built myself a Crush Card and took a picture of it to see what the "gold foil" card name would look like.

Perspective issue notwithstanding (it's an old camera and I was too close), take a gander at what my "gold foil" texture looks like when you print it and then photo it. It's not that far off of the image that was posted. And I put no effort into this.

NOTE: This does not mean I don't think it's real. I'm just not entirely convinced yet :D If this took me 5 minutes, a pro could make something really really realistic ... except for the foil effects, which are nigh on impossible to duplicate.

My camera does some funny things to the colour of pictures when the objects to close.

It made my Mohagony shelves look orange.

As well, Foil does not scatter light evenly, so different colours will be seen at different angles:

As you notice in the first pic, the text is lighter than the holofoil stamp...

But in this pic, the colours seem to be reversed:

So i'm sure if you take a real card you would get a lot of fake looking pictures ;)

Unfortunatey he doesn't seem to have a grasp on photography, with focus, and equidistance stuff...

Now thats interesting... notice the title? It has a foil reflective glare and it looks to me like it has been stamped, and not printed. It's hard to tell about the picture holo though, not much of a reflective glare there... however with it being in a toploader and sleeve, the glare could be reduced.

I'm not convinced this is a fake, but I'm also not convinced it's real either.
 
That last shot with the stamped foil visible is FAR more convincing. I'm on board now. If you make a fake THAT good, you go to jail. No stupid YGO card is worth that!
 
This certainly has made up for the lack of coverage of Worlds, and my not being able to attend the Sneak Preview on either day due to other matters.

The card's gold lettering also intrigues me, since it doesn't look like it was indented like other Ultra Rare cards are. In addition, the switch to the 4 letter code is debatable.

Either this is a really good fake or it really is a BIG screwup on UDE's part. Now the question is: What will UDE do or not do about this (the card itself, the person, and the future SJC prize cards)?

There is more than one card out there. I know one person who has one. I havent seen it in person, but I have no reason to believe they would lie to me, especially since they know I don't really care.
 
I've read on Pojo that around 7 other people have the same card, but its not been confirmed. If that were true, then it could be a production/distribution error (or deliberate mistake) on UDE's part. As of now, the card is illegal for premier tournament play, so player(s) who have it won't have any distinct advantage in that regard.

At the very least, it'll be interesting to see what UDE's public reaction will be, if any.
 
did UDE announce that it was illegal?

UDE tournament policy states that promos are legal upon release. I guess they need to define the word "release"
 
It wasn't "released" in the sense that UDE announced that CCV would be the new prize card. But its safe to say that if this was intended to be the prize card, the card out there won't be legal until after the next SJC that includes it as the prize.

I already adressed the issue with the Judge's List, and they are attempting to reach some type of resolution on the release of the Crush Card Virus, so it is indeed "real", and I doubt it will be playable at any event in the forseeable future.

Just think back to the "Old Days" when we had to wait to play new Booster Sets, only this time, it will be longer.... lol
 
I saw that Kevin Tewart was poking around the Internet today ... is there any word on the LV3 list as to when we'll hear about the status of this card?

I'm assuming that they won't update the forbidden list for it, since only a small handful exist.

My guess: One of 2 things ..

1) They will not say anything at all publically
2) They will proclaim it illegal for tournament play

I would LOVE to know how the cards got in there, since it sounds like it wasn't intentional. And here they were mad at us for publishing TP8 data before metagame.com :D I don't think that even ranks anymore.

Not a word. I would agree with your assessment that it will be illegal for game play, since it was never "properly" released, but hey, look on the bright side, it will probably become a YVD Card, and you can play it to your hearts content!!! lol

or 3) fully legal playable card, but will be and remain on the banlist permanently like raigeki :p
