Crystal Abundance vs. Necrovalley

Technically not really, since if you have Convulsion of Nature and you play a card like Reversal Quiz or Card of Sanctity, even though the cost sends everything away, both players would still flip their decks back over before the opponent could chain anything (Magic Drain anyone? :) ).

And yes if you Flip Fiber Jar while Protector of the Sactuary is on the field, it would be shuffled back into the deck and you would draw your 5 cards.

And now that we're really going off topic...

Ok I'm not sure about this, but I'm alittle confused as to the chain'ing of each effect of this card. Or maybe I am confused as to what he is trying to say as to the chain link of the card. Does it consider inself 3 chain links in 1 card, or it is 1 card with 3 effects that need to resolve kinda separate of each other.
I hope you understand that cause I'm not sure I understand myself.

Ok, last response for this in the thread (please start a new one if there are any other lingering questions about mechanics).

Some cards like Last Turn, Reload, Crystal Abundance, etc. have multiple parts to their resolution. However all of those parts still occupy only 1 link on the chain and during the resolution of that 1 link, you simply go through each part of the card's effect until you completed it.

if necrovalley is active neither player can activate book of life.... which has 2 parts ( even tho' one link in a chain) - spcl summon and remove from grave...so i would think you could not activate/get effect of , crystal abundance for similar reasons...necrovalley,upon activation of a card, looks to see if it affects cards in graveyard then, would negate it ( it being whole card), since it does affect card(s) in the graveyard...i understood all you said - but couldnt get past first sentance of necrovalley.. help please?

It is because Necrovalley prevents it from being activated, (same as would Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, but if you read the rulings that if Book of Life is activated and then Kycoo hits the field in the same chain, you still get to special summon the Zombie at least).

That said, again I repeat: Crystal Abundance DOES NOT TARGET!

"¢ "Necrovalley" will NOT negate effects that do not target a card or cards in the Graveyard. So "Necrovalley" will NOT negate the effects of "Dark Necrofear" (when destroyed and sent to the Graveyard), "Revival Jam", "Winged Sage Falcos", "Twin-Headed Behemoth", "Mystical Knight of Jackal", and "Red-Moon Baby".

So again, Necrovalley will do nothing at all to stop Crystal Abundance.

Ok, to answer this question I am going to have you read the text of Crystal Abundance

(Send 4 "Crystal Beast" cards from your Spell & Trap Card Zone to the Graveyard. Send all cards on the field to the Graveyard. Then, Special Summon as many "Crystal Beast" monsters as possible from your Graveyard, up to the number of your opponent's cards that were sent to the Graveyard by this card's effect.)

and then the text of Field Barrier

(Field Spell Cards cannot be destroyed. Also, a new Field Spell cannot be activated. You can only control 1 face-up "Field Barrier" at a time.)

Now are there any common words to both effects? I'm not seeing any.. I mean, not even ticky-tacky things like "a", "the", "be", etc.

Seriously though, it's been stated NUMEROUS times about the difference of Send vs. Destroy vs. Discard etc. And the answer is no different here. Just reading the card text alone should have answered that question for you.

You're assuming that the person playing Crystal Abundance would be the one controlling Field Barrier (which I wasn't since I was figuring he was trying to find a way to "protect" Necrovalley).

Now have we pretty much exhausted all answers to this question (and all variations of the same question)?
