Cyber-Stein SJC-EN001

Cyber-Stein
DARK/µµ/700 ATK/500 DEF
[Machine/Effect]
Pay 5000 Life Points. Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck to the field in Attack Position.

Okay then, I was nearly pistol whipped when I said I was considering running this joker in a deck. What do you all think? I know he's pricey, but he strikes me as a "finishg move" type of monster.

Just the fact that you would have one is enough to make me wonder what the rest of your deck would contain if you summoned it to the field.

My only question is, "What will you do when they Divine Wrath it???"

If you build a deck around him, I think he could have potential. Life Absorbing Machine, Poison of the Old Man and Draining Shield would help gain some life points in the next turn, especially Draining Shield since it would protect Cyber Stein as well.
Then as someone mentioned, Megamorph + that Shooting Star Bow Ceal or whatever it's called on Oz, which would give you a 6400 atk monster that can attack direct (though it would turn into a 1600 atk after that thanks to megamorph). Or if you have a clear shot, just megamorph for a 8400 atk monster.

Just watch out for a Magic Cylinder!

Shooting Star Bow-Ceal would decrease the attack by 1000. So, a Megamorphed Oz equipped with Ceal would be at 7400, not 6400. Attack directly, then after Megamorph has reduced Oz to 1600, finish the opponent with Ring of Destruction.

Smile politely, shake hands, start round 2

Pricey right now, but I know it will see play once Dark Beginnings 2 is out, and it's just a normal rare in it. I wouldn't play with the special SJC one if I won it, that baby is a trophy, but I'd play the other when it hits here. It will see play just for the pure and simple fact that people will want to try for the OTK with it and Oz/BEUD (Preferrably, I'd use Oz, much more class. ;) )

3 Cyber Steins, 3 Reloads, 3 Megamorphs, as much S/T removal in spell form that you can pack (Even Nobleman of Extermination in this case), Nobleman of Crossout and Smashing Grounds to kill either face-up or face-down, or Fairy Meteor Crush/ Big Bang Shot to just trample and just look to get what you need. It's about as lucky/successful as any other OTK. Throw a couple into a dedicated Oz deck for an unsuspecting possible boost. There's all sorts of stuff you can do with it. It's my friend's favorite card, ever since he could win so cheaply in the video game with it.

Expect to encounter it, expect to possibly lose by it, and if MST ever gets semi-limited, expect it to pound you a few times. A card, that if you're going for the OTK with, you'll pretty much always want the opponent to go first.

Jedi - *pistol whip attack* GAH, how dare you consider useing Cyber-Stein without Life Absorbing Machine?!?!?!

just foolin

Okay, that is definitely a fantasy about 3 Cyber Steins (even if you get them as commons) since I highly doubt they would make him "unlimited" or "unrestricted".

If they could make Magical Scientist limited to one per deck/side deck combined, then there's no doubt he will be either banned, and/or limited to one in both formats of gameplay, ESPECIALLY since you can easily get him from your deck by using with Mystic Tomato, Witch, or Sangan.

And, if you should amass an ungodly amount of life points, he's even easier to get out with Machine Duplication and Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce or Hoshiningen.

Why would they limit a monster that costs 5000 Life Points to Special Summon anything?

Why wouldnt they? You can pay 5000 life points with Magical Scientist also (just not at the same time), plus, you can buy your way to summon ANY Fusion Monster that can be Special Summoned without restriction, not just a Level 6 or lower like Magical Scientist.

I'd say 5000 life points is a small price to pay for a summon since what ever monster you actually DO pay that kind of cost for surely better be worth it!

I dont think you will see many people paying 5000 life points for summoning "Fusionist" to the field any time soon....

Yes, but it's not that broken. I mean the Special Summoned Fusion can still be Bottomless Trap Holed, Offerings to the Doomed, Phoenix Wing Wind Blasted, Compulsory Evacuation Deviced, Mirror Forced, Ring of Destructioned... well you see my point. It's riskier for the controller then it is for the opponent.

Huh, strange, guess I've just never seen a recent banned list for Japan. So in 3+ months, when we get Dark Beginnings 2, are we going to be able to run 3 for a while, or is there going to be an update to add it suddenly to the restricted list?
