- I have a Legendary Jujitsu Master in face-up Defense poistion. My opponent has a face-up D. D. Warrior Lady in attack position.

- My opponent attacks with his D. D. Warrior Lady my Legendary Jujitsu Master. (they both actived in different sub-steps)

- My opponent use D. D. Warrior Lady's effect, which is activate in the ''Resolve effects'' step. D. D. Warrior Lady's effect resolves and they both ( D. D. Warrior Lady and Legendary Jujitsu Master) are removed. Now Legendary Jujitsu Master's effect is actived in the ''Send to the Graveyard'' step. Does Legendary Jujitsu Master's effect brings D. D. Warrior Lady to my opponents top of his Deck (will it affect cards that are Removed from Play) ?

Legendary Jujitsu Master's effect is mandatory, so he forms Chain Link 1, while D. D. Warrior Lady is optional, so she forms Chain Link 2.

Her effect resolves first and removes both cards from play. While the resolution of Legendary Jujitsu Master's effect is still waiting to resolve on the chain, both cards have been removed from play, which causes a resolution without effect.

Both cards remain removed from play.

i understand how the mandatory effect and optional effect works and how it links up. Its kinda like the newdoria and hydro effect, where hydro is optional and newdoria is mandatory, thats why hydrogeddon gets its effect.

I was wondering, do you even have to look at it with mandatory and optional effects?? can you look it what DDWL says? it says u can remove at the end of damage calculation, and LJM is at the end of damage step. Would that mean that calculation occurs first and DDWL would get the effect before LJM has the chance??

Also, i understand that hydro has to be on the field to summon another hydro.
does jujitus master have to be on the field to send anything to top of deck? i mean why cant LJM return ddwl from RFG??
im having a bit of trouble grasping this.

thanks

Ok, just to clear this up. Masterwoo0's answer was not correct. The explanation given by Duelmaster is the correct way to resolve this attack. Their effects activate in DIFFERENT Sub-Steps of the Damage Step. There is NO WAY they would form any kind of chain.

Now, the very last sentence Masterwoo0 stated is 100% correct. Both monsters will remain removed from play. This is because the monster that battled with "Legendary Jujitsu Master" must still be on the field in order to be returned to the top of the deck. "Legendary Jujitsu Master" does NOT need to be on the field anymore for his effect to activate/resolve properly (This is clearly stated in his rulings.).

Oh, and just for reference....
