hey i was just at the sneak preview and i heard some interesting views about the dark realm monsters. for example, i head that if the dark realm monster silva was discarded by raigeki break, it doesnt come back because it was discarded my a cost effect. im a level one judge and this was news to me. could some judges tell me where i could find some rulings on these or were these just people not knowing what they were talking about? thanx alot.

Thats correct. Cost Discards are not legal ways to trigger the Dark World monsters effect.

You should be able to find a Bot Message somewhere here on the site that will tell you what WILL trigger their effect.

Or

You could just check the Judges List. Dont you get the messages sent to your email?? You might want to go to your UDE account and change your preferences.

That is correct. Dark Realm beasties will not come back if discarded for a cost, only an effect. To find this and other information, try checking out the Judge's List forums which we are so lucky as to have here. You can do a forums search using the phrases "Dark Realm" or "Elemental Energy Rulings" to find what you're looking for.

<EDIT: Must... Type... FASTER!>

The other popular "rumor" that was going around for a while was taht The Creator's effect would work too since the discard was not a cost for his effect. However, The Creator says "Send" and not "Discard" ruling that out.

I think this is good for the Dark Worlders. It gives makes them a little more practical and far less broken. Hopefully that will keep them from any severe restrictions.

Isn't it technically correct to say that all picked up / selected cards are still in the deck? I'm pretty sure, since Cyber Jar says to add the picked up cards to your hand. It wouldn't say that if they were already there.

Royal Tribute does not work due to Necrovalley having to be present to activate it's effect.

And your point? That is not a cost, just a condition for it to be activated. Royal Tribute should work with Dark World as it does exactly what it says it does, both players discard all monster cards. Since Dark World do not miss timing it should work and it works because they are discarded due to a card effect.

And Sangan doesnt work if you dont have a monster in your deck (but you can still search).

Just because a card has a specific requirement for its activation doesn't take away from the fact that "if" there is a Necrovalley face-up, Royal Tribute will activate a discarded Dark World Monster's effect (if it has one that activates on discard).

Necrovalley doesnt prevent monsters that summon themselves, from returning.

My mistake, I have edited my post, I was certain that Necrovalley stopped Dark World from activating!
The rulings say otherwise.

Oh you meant Necrovalley being out would stop the effect of the monsters being summoned and what not? Hmm, it should state it in a rulings unless Konami never got around to it. I would assume no then, but then again we do got rulings that make no sense so who knows.

I think End of Anubis is underrated. Granted it has that goose egg defense, but with Tsuk use down a bit, I think it has some serious advantages:

Premie - gone
Call - denied
Sangan/Tomato/Toolbox - locked shut
Dark World - Dark what?
Phoenix - nothing but a turkey dinner
Zombie recursion - victim of Buffy slayage

Get one of these bad boys down at the right time with some support and you can shut down most decks. Just don't make it your own 8^D

However, some Necrovalley / Dark World tactics have seen some interesting insight lately considering how they pair together so nicely.
