For the same reason that EGI, as a software company, is taking over a PTO territory. To expand the base of operations and get more money.krazykidpsx said:why the merge to have Flash?
Again, I disagree. It's not about what money you can afford, but what can do the job. I can absolutely put money on it that anyone on these forums with Max cannot do what I do in Poser or even "” I'd go so far to say "” in DAZ|Studio. And, I think I've proven over and again on these forums that I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.also, i never said the programs were out right crap, they are decent, their best thing for somebody that doesnt have the cash to spend on the more pricey programs. it takes a bit more time to do a few things but nothing is impossible.
This isn't about going for cheap. It's going for what is best. And Max is far from best for what this discussion started as. Remember that. It's neat to discuss what pricy application we all have. But that doesn't resolve the query here. Calling them "dummy applications" is a misnomer since they are far from that. If you want to spend $3500 [3D Studio Max] on an application to do less than I can do with free [DAZ|Studio] (or $250 [Poser 6]), by all means, let's give it a whirl and see what comes up. But, last I checked, not many individuals around here could afford to drop that kind of cash on a program to merely do figure studies. But I know a lot of people that have gotten it in other ways and still don't know how to use it properly.
I keep meaning to grab Terragen. It just slips my mind since I do so little landscaping at all.terrogen, man i loved making landscapes on that thing. not to mention it was free.
