Demise + Royal Decree

A question that happens in my Demise deck.

I have a Royal Decree set last turn. I ritual summon Demise, and activate Demise effect in priority. My foe have Bottomless Trap Hole Set and he activates that.

Does my Royal Decree negate Bottomless Trap Hole (Or Torrential Tribute) before Royal Decree is destroyed by Demise, or does Royal Decree doesn't help to protect Demise from being destroyed?

If it's the latter, then should I activate Royal Decree first, THEN ritual summon Demise and activate it's effect.

Royal Decree negates Bottomless Trap Hole in this case.

But if you want to be sure that your opponent doesn't chain another Bottomless to your decree, you should better activate it before the summon, just in case ;)

That's why I'm running "Malfunction" in my "Demise, King of Armageddon" deck...lol. It pretty much limits them to only 2 or 3 other cards that can stop "Malfunction"...lol. And how many people run "Seven Tools of the Bandit"?...lol.

If somebody wants to pay half their Life Points to "Solemn Judgment" my "Malfunction", more power to them!...lol.

Curse of Royal can't stop Malfunction, because Malfunction doesn't destroy the trap card ;)

So it does work. Okay thanks.

Most cases, they WON'T have 2x BTH set on the same field. (That's a waste.) But yeah, I can just activate Royal Decree like right before it so it doesn't matter. Unless they have MST. but then again, if they have MST. They chain BTH, I chain Royal Decree, and they chain MST so the result will be the same. Really, the only weakness of Royal Decree I've seen is MST.

I also use Royal Decree to protect my Sacred Phoenix from being BTH. (Seen way too many people just play Smashing Ground and then set BTH when I pull out SPoN)

Simple minds think alike i assume.

the situation were 2 BTH come in hand is when YOU have 2 Cyber Dragons.

I have 2 BTH that you dont know about and 1 lonely poor Spirit reaper.

the case scenario that you think is, "Hey i summon it gets BTH'ed i summon again and summon another creature"

true but guess what you try and do that and will end up loosing 2 creatures. You dont you will need to figure out how to play around 2 BTH.

Special summon = Infinity, if you can get rid of them then whats the big deal?

and for your question which was answered.

all you need to do is look at how the Chain will end up looking, Yours resolves negates, theirs does nothing then your creature ability resolves.

preaty easy for a Dr. to know.

Can you say "Dust Tornado"? And you can run them in 3's, whereas "Mystical Space Typhoon" is restricted to 1. I would be more worried about "Dust Tornado" than a "Mystical Space Typhoon"...lol.

? Won't Dust Tornado be negated?

I mean, if I set my Royal Decree, and then my foe activates Dust Tornado the turn I set that during my end phase, yeah, it'll bust my Decree.

But When I activate my Royal Decree, my foe can't chain that to Dust Tornado. They could, but it'll be negated.

When I meant by MST, I mean, they had MST set and was sitting there waiting for me to set another s/t while I already had Royal Decree before the foe's MST. And then basically, they activate trap, I chain Royal Decree, then they chain MST to bust Royal Decree.

Replace "MST" with "Dust Tornado" and you'll see what I was referring to.

i do not get why dust tornado kills royal decree...royal decree is face up & continuous...dust tornado is not a counter...and it dosent negate activation....so isn't it too slow?
searching for the logic

can you then activate dust tornado in response to jinzo being summoned?or bottomless trap hole?

No. Jinzo's effect is instantly active when he's succesfully summoned.

And about Decree: Decree's effect is only active after it has resolved. If you chain Dust Tornado to Decree's activation, Decree's effect isn't active yet so it will be destroyed.
