I just played this for my wife. She can't believe it either. The problem I see is that people, who clearly understand the math, are trying to explain the math to people who clearly have no grasp of it. What needs to be done, provided Verizon isn't just playing dumb to avoid refunding everone they ever 100 fold overcharged, is it needs to be explained more simply. Forget explaining the more detailed math. Explain to them that whatever increments your multiplying, in this case cents, it doesn't magically convert to another increment when you hit enter. You multiply lbs. by a number, and when you hit enter you get your total in lbs. It doesn't change to another unit of weight. You multiply liters by a number, then your total is still representign liters. You multiply cents by a number, and your total is still represented in cents. It doesn't magially convert to dollars, regardless of where the decimal lands. It's not surprising that not everone at Verizon understands this, whats surprising is that not a single one does. I would love to see this on 20/20 or 60 Minutes.
