Dimension Wall?

im a bit confused about how Dimension Wall works...like lets say u had no monsters on ur side of the field and ur opponent has...iono...Mataza the Zapper and a Cyber Dragon...u have Dimension Wall face down...they attack with the mataza and u activate Dimension Wall, now i know ur opponent would take 1300 direct damage, but if they decided to use its effect to attack again, would THEY take the 1300 damage, or would u take it? also in the same battle phase, if they decided to attack with the Cyber Dragon, would they take the damage? or would u take it?

I sould point out that your right, it doesn't target, but it only applies to the damage of one attack, much like Magic Cylinder, although mechanicaly different.

I guess the mechanics being that Magic Cylinder "negates" the attack whereas Dimension Wall, if there were a monster on the field, allows the attack to go through but the damage that the player would have normally received is 'reflected' back at the attacking player? Still trying to figure a lot of the game out but love challenges...

Tha's right. One stops the attack alltogether and inflicts Effect Damage. The other doesn't activate until the Damage Step and redirects the Battle Damage.

I have a very fragile mirror.

My opponent attacks with a monster, and I hold up my mirror.

The attack reflects off the mirror, and they take all the damage.

However, in the process, my mirror broke from the strength of the attack (I want my money back!).

So now, they've taken the damage, not me, but, in any future attacks, I will take the damage, unless I can get myself another mirror in time. <--Were there enough commas in that sentence? :dur_jedi:

Kind of reminds me of a super U-bend. Oh, never mind, you wouldn't understand...

Er, mirror being your monster? Because you do lose a monster even though you didn't take any dammage (much like when amazoness sword master is attacked by a mon with higher attk)
