Elemental Hero Bladedge

There are no published rulings for Elemental Hero Bladedge.

Welcome to another week of EEN cards. I hope everyone had a good weekend with Sneak Previews and all. Let's see what else we can analyze for everyone.

Bladedge is the first of the E-Heroes that requires a tribute, sans the Fusions. Normally, I would advise against a 2 trib monster unless it's effect is grounbreaking, so let's look at whether Bladedge will be. EARTH/Warrior are hugely supported, 2600 ATK is sweet (though perhaps a tad low for a 7-Star), and 1800 DEF is pretty solid. Good stats all around. To cap that all off, Bladedge has trample. 2600 ATK that pierces? Yes, please.

Obviously he belongs in an E-Hero deck, and I can't really see using him anywhere else. There are other "tramplers" that are easier to get out. Considering Bladedge makes a really good Fusion, too, the E-Hero deck is his best home. But not just any old E-Hero deck. I would advise keeping him paired with Elemental Hero Wildheart and some Warrior support or tech. Otherwise, he could be dead weight in your hand.

On his own, Bladedge is a solid monster. As mentioned, 2600 ATK with built-in trample is killer. His 7-Star status brings him down a bit, even if The Trojan Horse can help. Overall though, that's really his only drawback.

Advanced: 3.5/5 - I wanna be more generous, but that 2 trib thing...
Traditional: 1.5/5 - You'd better not
Limited: 2/5 - If you have 2 monsters on the field, chances are you're already ahead enough to win. But a 2600 staring down your opponent would seal it.

For your enjoyment, I have also built a deck with this guy and Wildheart. Check the Advanced format section for "Walking on the Edge of the Wild Side."

YOU....FORGOT.....BUBBLE....SHUFFLE! It's the easiest way to get him out free of regularly tributing for him, and Bubble Shuffle puts a mon in DEF, so Wildedge can pierce it.

Oooh, very nice. Me likey. Now if we could get a Fusion between Bladedge and Bubbleman, I could see doing it.

Bubble Blader? Bubbledge? Blade Bubble? Blubber? lol

I just mean as an excuse to include them in the same deck together. With the great pairing that Wildheart and Bladedge have, everything else seems out of place somewhat. Though that combo definitely helps.

I like pssvr's idea a lot. It's plausible and all. :D

I also like this new batch of E-Heroes that are in EEN. A lot more than the old ones, that's for sure.

Very nice review Jath. :D
