I don't know if anyone watches the daily GX episodes on Cartoon Network, but I DVR every episode because of work. So tonight I sit down and watch the episode about half way through and then i walk out to the kitchen, I come back and go to rewind it when i realize that the Gravekeeper Chief had a DMoC on his duel disk. So I think it's weird that he would run a card that kinda counter acts with Necrovalley. So I rewind and realize that Gravekeepers Spear Holder magical becomes a DMoC. I wish I could get a screen shot and I'll look around for one but it made me chuckle from the idea that they could mess up that much.

Yeah I noticed that too.I guess they just thought no one would notice and didn't edit it.also did anyone noticed that they changed voice actors for alexis.

its all 4kids man, they should have never edited the cards. They should have left everything violent and dirty the poor kids minds.

jeez... why do they hurt society.

I hate to break this to you, but 4Kids flat out suck at translating anything. It is bad enough they edit the cards the way they do, but they also do not fully explain a card's effect enough. I know for a fact they used Water Dragon's new art when his new art was not revealed until EEN came out in Japan and then later shown in the end credits and now the opening credits for GX. It happens. The old Yu-Gi-Oh! series had a lot of card mishaps, like Divine Wind and Guardian Formation. Even Zigfried's cards were odd looking. In fact most of them had the same art in the 4Kids dub when they clearly were distinguished in the Japanese version.

This is pretty much like the YGO The Movie mistake. You can imagine the audience in our theater on opening night when we went to watch it. LoL, we were all over that one.

hehe, I modified a slogan I used while running cross country and applied it to the shows:

"When watching Yugi GX, watch it for inspiration, not a lesson in mechanics." 8^D

Though you gotta admit, they are getting a lot better with things, especially when they pulled off a proper trap activation with a chain of Emergency Provisions.

That was not something 4Kids did, it was The Creators of GX that did the episode that way. GX is more closely to how the OCG/TCG is played, to some extent.

Oh, most definitely. I just found it humorous as to how many times I was called over to a table where Player A attacks with a monster and Player B "responds" with a normal spell, like Raigeki. I explain that you can't do that and the kid responds "But I saw Yugi do it against Kaiba last week on the show..." 8^D

At that point I realized that kids needed to know there was a difference between the "rules" that govern the two universes...

I kinda hoped they would take the oprotunity of a new show to try harder to make the cards look like real english cards...
Oh well, at least [ycard="SDJ-036]Polymerization[/ycard] is ok now
Though that other art was neat, I'd play a [ycard="SDJ-036]Polymerization[/ycard] with that art on it

i saw that too but i also noticed that i think on gravekeepers assailant(i think)had an [ycard="DR1-EN233]Infernalqueen Archfiend[/ycard] card.i even rewinded and paused.it only shows the bottom of her dress though.check it out.

If you're talking about 4Kids: then you're right.

If you talk about the original creators: They're Japanese, so let them make the cards with Japanese art, it's much cooler in most cases ^_^

There's just one problem with that: Making cards look almost exactly like their English counterparts (name in the top-left, Attribute and Level Stars in the top-right, effects written, etc.) would make Upper Deck look like it's engaging in subliminal advertising. Subliminal advertising is illegal in the US.

Or at least, so says Kevin Tewart.

But I have seen episodes of Duel Masters where the cards are either in Japanese at times or English or just blank but retain the same features. I never take a word Kevin Tewart says seriously. This is the man who picks up cards for the tins because he likes them and there is no special way they are picked, right...... Oh and let us not forget about the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie that had English Text on the card.

Reverse of Reverse surely does not pwn. There is too much about it to involve. The rulings on it will make it confusing. It has the ability to flip-over your opponents Spell and Trap Cards, all of them and not just 1. Do you get to pick them all at once? Do you pick them during the turn? If they are incorrect do they get destroyed? So on and so on. I like the card and hope it is release just for collecting sake, although they could make it more playable. At the moment you basically need to only have that 1 card period on your field and nothing else in hand. Like Elemental Hero Bubbleman.

You guys are trying to make sense of a terrible series. GX is just terrible, especially when compared to the original. I stopped watching it at ep 58 (Yuki vs Ed Part1), and I don't miss it.

1) Just because one show has all the features and everything of actual Japanese or English cards for their game doesn't mean that it's legal. If I kill a man and never tell anyone that I did it, does that make the murder I committed legal? No. It would just mean that I hadn't been caught.

2) Apparently movies have a lot more leeway than television shows as far as what constitutes "subliminal advertising." Either that or Konami/Upper Deck/Shueisha's legal department was asleep at the time and no one's decided to sue or anything.

Subliminal advertising is hardly needed, what with all the quite blatant advertising in open view.
Look at the kids TV channels, and the adverts on them. Turtles, power rangers etc- so many tie ins.
Linking burgers with Star Wars?- why?
Product placement is in every movie out there- try and count how often it occurs, where all the characters are drinking only one type of beer, or ask for a drink they name a specific one, or are in a specific chain of stores etc.

A few weeks ago, in the TV show Medium, the characters talked about the forthcoming movie Memoirs of a Geisha and said they would go and see it. And in the next advert break, an advert for the same movie was shown.

*sigh*
