It's been a long long long time since I've done one of these. However, with the amount of love I've seen the Crystal Beasts and Raiza the Storm Monarch get, I think I'll spread some joy for my favorite theme of the new set:
Volcanic Blaster
Effect Monster (Pyro / FIRE / 3 Stars / ATK 1200 / DEF 600)
When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by battle, you can place 1 "Volcanic" monster in your Deck on top of your Deck.
Now, why start with this card? Well, there are quite a few tactics you can go with when you run Volcanics. I am going to focus on the cards to let you bring out the Muscle of the set: Volcanic Doomfire. In that regard, this monster is the key.
The stats are nothing special. It can be searched out by UFO Turtle though which will help speed through the deck. Once this card is destroyed by battle though, now you start having options. Doomfire requires 3 cards to get out: Itself, Blaze Accelerator, and Tri-Blaze Accelerator. This card can search out Volcanic Doomfire for you or it can search out Volcanic Rocket (which in turn can find the necessary Blaze Accelerator card). While having the card go straight to your hand would be better, knowing you'll get it on your next draw makes it still quite useful. This card is definitely your resource for the success of Volcanic decks.
3.75 out of 5 in a dedicated Volcanic Deck. With Raiza the Storm Monarch and Pulling the Rug the "in" cards and both likely to be main-decked (worst case side-decked), you're going to have to work a little harder to be able to get your Volcanic searchers to do their thing for you. Volcanic Blaster is one of the fastest tools you have to disrupt your opponent's plans. Don't worry about taking a few hits early on. Volcanic Blaster will find what you need to turn the duel back your way soon enough.
