Hello all ,

I would like to know if Fusilier Dragon, The Dual-Mode Beast's original attack strengh was 1400 or 2800 when it is summoned without tribute .
Because my oppenent equipped it with Megamorph and said that its attack become 5600 because its original attack strengh was 2800 but however it is written on the card that THE ORIGINAL ATTACK would become halved when it is summoned without tribute

Can you help me ?

p.s: excuse my english , I am a French guy

French Guy!?

LOL :D Your english is perfect. However it should be noted that the Original Attack is always 2800. When it is halving it, it is halveing the 2800. At no time does the original attack change because the original attack is what's printed in the card.

So unless you get a magic marker (spell marker?) and scribble it out, the original attack will always be 2800. lol

EDIT: There seems to be confusion over Fusilers effect even with people who speak no other language but english.

When your Life Points are lower than your opponent's and Fusilier Dragon is equipped with Megamorph, the base ATK of Fusilier Dragon will become 5600.

When your Life Points are higher than your opponent's and Fusilier Dragon is equipped with Megamorph, the base ATK of Fusilier Dragon will become 1400.

Both of those calculations are assuming there are no other ATK modifiers present (like the aforementioned Heavy Mech Support Platform).

^ That wasn't explicitly stated before, so I thought I'd say it.

its important to clarify though, that the "other modifiers" Maruno is referring to are still to be applied after the doubling or halving caused by Megamorph.

Always, always, always refer back to the wording of "original". otherwise it still gets confusing, when dealing with time stamping issues.

Anyone want to rehash the issues concerning 2 Megamorphs equipped to the same monster? Or, 2 Megamorphs equipped by opposing players to the same monster? *teehee*

sorry. Ive had too much coffee today@__*

Ha! Try explaining what happen's when two Meagamorphs on opposing sides of the field are equipped to Karate Man and why. I wrote a thread over on Realms once with my reasonings and have yet to figure out where my hippocampus went after my head exploded. :D

If we assume your brain exploded from the center, then your hippocampus would most likely have been blown down your throat.

2 Megamorphs the last one to resolve would be the end result. The effects of Megamorphs are enver cumulative.

Megamorph one doubles/halves "Original ATK" to get modified attack A. Then the second one doubles/halves "Original ATK" to get B. At which point we completely forget about A and pretend it never existed

That explains the laryngitis.

I myself believe Fusilier should become 5600 when equipped with Megamorph, but on another site I was told he e-mailed this to UDE

Scenario:

My LP are lower than my opponents.

I Summon Fusilier Dragon through its effect.

I equip Megamorph onto Fusilier Dragon.

I believe that Fusilier would NOW be considered a 2800
attacker, not 5600- because it's effect halves its
ORIGINAL attack.

am i correct in assuming this?

and in response he received this,

Fusilier Dragon: This card can be Normal Summoned or Set without Tribute. In that case, the original ATK/DEF of this card becomes halved.

Megamorph: While your Life Points are lower than your opponent's, double the original ATK of a monster equipped with this card. While your Life Points are higher, halve the original ATK.

Yes, you are correct.

Is this correct or was there an error here somehow?

The post is incorrect.

"Original ATK/DEF" always refers to the "printed" ATK/DEF value.

So Megamorph will always half/double the printed ATK regardless of what the current ATK value is.

Fusilier's effect halves the printed ATK value, it DOES NOT create a new printed ATK, that is always 2800.

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I've got one iffy question:

If I Normal Summon Fusilier Dragon without tribute and I then equip it with
Megamorph while I have less life points than my opponent:

What is Fusilier Dragons' Attack power? Is it 5600 (2800 doubled) or
is it 2800 (1400 doubled)?

Answer:

5600. Its original ATK doubled.

Fusiler Dragon, if summoned without tributes, is a 1400 attack monster. After Megamorph is equipped to it, its attack becomes twice the printed attack on the card which would be (2800 * 2), or 5600. If your life points were higher than your opponent's, then after Megamorph was equiped it would have half of the attack printed on the card, which is 1400......hmm, you cant really lose too much if you used this strategy, can you? Summon without tributes, multiply his attack by 4 after equiping Megamorph, and win.......until your opponent uses Magic Cylinder. NOOOO!!!

That is what I thought, but his e-mail was dated yesterday so I was wondering if the UDE rep was incorrect or something had changed in a ruling.
nah. But dont crucify the gent who provided the information. Heck, I think after 3 years Ive learned close to as much about this game as John Danker and Digital Jedi. Doesnt mean that when I start typing Ill ever say the right thing. (I think Ive proven that consistently)

Takes an individual who works repeatedly on these rulings day in and out to make sense of it (Ahem. *begins tribute list*:exileforcefreak, masterwoo0, Strike Ninja, John Danker, Digital Jedi, Novastar (my guru), bishop, skey....this continues for a while. You may just want to view the member list)
