Guardian Angel Joan / Cestus of Dagla

Guardian Angel Joan
Effect Monster (Fairy / LIGHT / 7 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 2000)

When this card destroys a monster and sends it to the Graveyard as a result of battle, increase your Life Points by an amount equal to the original ATK of the destroyed monster.

Cestus of Dagla
Equip Spell

You can only equip this card to a Fairy-Type monster. Increase the ATK of a monster equipped with this card by 500 points. When the monster equipped with this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, increase your Life Points by an equal amount.

So "Guardian" week ends with a little bit of a "twist" (that being since I ran out of regular Guardians) with a pairing that just screams to be put together, without the lousy summoning setback.

First up, "Guardian Angel Joan" aka "St. Joan in a useful form". With an ATK of 2800, she is tied for the strongest 7 Star monster in the game. Moreso, she's a beatstick with a great effect in that you gain life points = the ATK of the monster you destroy. 2 Tributes may hurt her, but hey, "Kaiser Sea Horse" isn't just for "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" either. :) Plus being a Light and a Fairy she does have a decent amount of support too.

"Cestus of Dagla" seems to have been made for her (though this came in DCR while GAJ is from IOC). Whenever the Fairy that is equipped with this card inflicts battle damage, you gain that much in life points. Plus since the Fairy gains an extra 500 Life Points, Joan would become a 3300 ATK monster that can defeat practically anything and the combination can yield massive amounts of life point gain on top.

All and all, both are an underrated and extremely powerful combination.

well, I think both cards are underrated, and I think that Cestus of Dagla was made for Airknight Parshath, myself.

I think Cestus of Dagla was made for all fairy-type monsters... you know, since it says that on the card.

But it works well with Airknight, Mudora, Shinato, and Joan. ^_^

Joan is easily one of the best double tributes in the game, but few realize that since she's a fairy and her effect doesn't say "When this card is summoned, you win" or "When this card is on the field, you can draw cards whenever it does anything". -_- (stupid staples and CCCC's and CCWC's)

Anyway, Joan doesn't necessarily HAVE to be in every fairy deck, but it sure is a welcome addition. The life point gain surely does make things easier.

Cestus is a very fun card. Two of this on one monster can be devastating... (Shinato + 2x Cestuses = 4300ATK, attack directly and you gain 8600 LP)

Both cards are awesome, IMHO.

Rating: (Joan, Advanced format Fairy deck)
4/5. 2800 ATK, LIGHT, Fairy, LP gain? Thats already overboard for fairies.
Art:
4.5/5. I like this art tons more than St. Joan... At least this one looks like a woman...

Rating: (Cestus, Advanced format Fairy deck)
4/5. The only drawback is that it can be bad top-deck if you have no monsters or if 500 ATK won't cut it.
Art:
3/5. In my opinion, a cestus should look a bit more menacing...

Point: Make fairy decks.

This particular card is one of my preferred designs of the Fairy's monsters, its true that is a heavy monster to use because of her 7 stars. But she can easy get out, when you are running a light deck whit "Kaiser Sea Horse", or a fairy deck whit Agent of creation Venus, (remember those white balls, that nobody seems to now what they are made for) well why don't use them for a tribute, OH! Yes to pricey (1000 lp for to of them) daa"¦ isn't Guardian Angel Joan going to rise up your life points any way? "¦ or you haven't think about Watapon who by the way can be easy special summoned on the field. Or Mokey Mokey and Mokey Mokey King deck?. And I haven't mention this monster can be reborn (so don't think to much, discard her, or put it on the Painful Choice).
But the thing I like the most about this Angel, is that is very supportive in the Agents deck, ones she attack a monster and rise up your life points it made Mars stronger if your life points get higher than your opponent (of course when "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field) and this open your chances to use Saturn effect.
Cestus of Dagla, in my point of view was made for Mudora (of course we are not analysing Mudora here, or all the fairies at ones, but what can I say, Fairies are my thing because I run a fairy deck base on Mudora - Cestus of Dagla, Agent"¦ Venus "“ Msball, Agent"¦ Mars - Agent"¦Saturn, and of course Guardian Angel Joan)

Cestus of Dagla also works GREAT with Asura Priest... 2200, attacks everything monster?? oh ya.. too bad priest goes back to your hand... Flip Ojama Trio... Final Attack Orders... Put Cestus on Priest... thats 7200 damage plus you gain 7200.... hope you have a ring handy to finish it off....

or asura priest ur opponent use scapegoat then big bang shot and cestus..
so evil but then they have to ruin it all... mirror force!!!

hehe so evil
