Now I am 99.99% certain I am right about this, but just to make it 100% sure.
Player A is the turn player.
Player A activates "Ring of Destruction" to destroy "Lava Golem".
Player B does nothing.
Player A chains "Hallowed Life Barrier" and discards "Sinister Serpent" and then claims that he takes no damage.
I said "yes you do".
He says HLB prevents all damage.
I said to read the card ... it says damage taken from your opponent (their monsters/card effects) becomes 0. Since he activated "Ring of Destruction", while he can chain HLB, that wouldn't save him since obviously he's not his opponent.
Was I right here? And if so, this is something you may want to keep in mind if you see players do that.
