Hydrogeddon thing.

Okay, if I attack a face-down Night Assailant with my Hydrogeddon, do I still get to special summon Hydrogeddon from my deck?

I think that's a no cause of the ruling of

- If this card battles a monster with equal ATK, and both are destroyed, you cannot Special Summon a "Hydrogeddon" from your Deck.

Basically, "Hydrogeddon" must be face-up on the field when his effect resolves in order for it to be successful. So, if he's destroyed by the effect of "Night Assailant", then he won't be able to Special Summon another "Hydrogeddon".

The reason for that is because neither monster would be face-up on the field when the effect activates. Hydrogeddon must be face-up on the field during the "Resolve Effects" portion of the Damage Step, and actually "see" the monster being sent to the Graveyard.
