If a face down card like (sprit reeper) is distroyed by a attacking monster will it be destroyed because it really was just set instead of summoned?

Can it effect take place even when it's face down?

Spirit Reaper? Spirit Reaper cannot be destroyed by battle under ANY circumstances, unless Skill Drain is in play. When it's attacked it is flipped face-up by the attack. It's effect is continuous and immediatley applies. Theres is no way to destroy a Spirt Reaper by battle withhout first negating its effect. Not even Dark Ruler Ha Des can can destroy a Spirit Reaper because Ha Des' must destroy a monster by plain old battle before he can nagate anything. Since the Reaper can't be destroyed by battle Ha Des can't negate it.

Well, you can still destroy it with cards like Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke and Nanobreaker. Althought they actually destroy him by effect, rather than battle damage.

does Spirit Reaper get destroyed when it is face down and was atacked by a monster with higher atk then the SR's def? if Skill Drain was already on?
