If you could use one god card in a deck what would it be?

And why Slifer? Any particular reason Paul? I agree with using Ra. Especially in a deck where discarding is more likely to happen. I play Ra in my Nightmare Troubadore deck, and I normally win at least 50% of my duels with Graceful/Premature or Call/Ra. Boom. Can you stop a 7199 or 7999 monster?

Probably. But the video game wasn't programmed for smart play. Still though. Real good.

Ok....restating the question.....

If you could use one of the three egyptian god cards in your deck, and they had the same effects they have in Nightmare Troubador and the TV show, which one would you use and why?

Noone is really saying why yet anyways. But if they did have their effects, which one do you think is the best?

I would probably use Obelisk, its the most stable of the 3.

also, If you were to use RA id feel sorry for you, not only do you need to remember rules you need to remember a stupid Poem. jeez how lame. lol

not to mention if i know it too i can cheat say it and then the creature comes on my side of the board. lol

how sad is that?

I'd have to agree with Krazy. Obelisk is my first pick as well. Although if you open the selection to include the new gods Uria slaps all 3 around and makes them cry for mommy. :)

thats true, Uria is the most abused of the 6 if you say "gods" which is way off since the effect for Uria is just a bit off balanced well atleast the rules for it are.

Oh well, I dont even play Yugi anymore other than EX and so forth for the GBA.

The reason why i picked Slifer is that the effect of the second effect and first. the First is it gains 1000 for each card in your hand and secondly any monster with 2000 defence or less is destoryed when it's summed.

yea but see then we get into issues with "Set" a card and the ovious Smashing Ground lol.

or do they have the "is not affected by spell or trap" bubble?

when you state this things its like there needs to be a set define rules per card, becuase with out it, I can always play the one Snatch Steal that will only work for 1 turn then bust out Card of Sanctity to permanetly remove the creature from play, and bottomless oh lets not even start with bottomless. lol

When I would play them, I would use the NTR rules, that way they are not too powerful.

In NTR they aren't affected by effects that target, like Trap Hole, Man-Eater Bug and Black Luster Soldier - Envoy.

My favorite would also be Slifer the Sky Dragon. I just love this combo (most effective in exodia decks): 2x Manticore of Darkness and Card of Safe Return, but in this case you also have to use Infinite Cards.

A Slifer of about 30.000, can you top that? lol

Thats an unstable combo. All your opponent has to do is MST your Infinite Cards on his turn, and then you are going to need to have another Infinite Cards in your hand to keep them, and of course, you still need to have enough cards in your Deck to continue playing.

Of course, praying that they don't have a Morphing Jar.....

I was just talking about something that happened to me in the game :p

Most of the time, my Slifer doesn't get stronger than 7000 or 8000.

Which is often how powerful my Uria is when he gets to the field and decides to end things fast. :)

You can get a similar power-up to 30,000+ with a nearly all Continuous Trap deck combo'd with Magical Merchant/Monster Reincarnation and Uria. Though these sorts of combos are better at the kitchen table than they are for reliability at tournament.

I had my lifepoints up to about 20,000 and then summoned Ra from the graveyard one time in NT. And I agree that if Ra, Slifer , and Obelisk were played it would be like they are in NT. That way they aren't too broken, along with cards that destroyed/removed/returned card to hand that didn't target would work just as such on the gods, not just "until the end of the turn the card is activated". Targetting cards only work for one turn, like Snatch Steal or equip magic or Blast with Chain. You get the idea.

But Uria is the red one right? 3 Cont. Spells and has priority to destroy a set S/T without chain? Yeah. Blows all other Gods away by far. Deck idea anyone?
