I have a problem. There are no duelists in my area (or even in my state for that matter)
When I first started, there were more venues & more tournaments. More duelists in general.
Slowly, all the "local" tournaments were "bought out" by the larger ones in the Capital City. They all closed up shop.
Now, only one venue remains in the Capital City & no where else in the state. There's only about a dozen or so duelists who go there & they never get anybody new, because as soon as "newbies" come, they are badly insulted & intimidated into early retirement.
They are killing off the game in this country & now a few of them are even leaving the game, so there's absolutely no chance of me meeting another duelist or even dueling again.
It's sad when I think of that & look at my deck, knowing that it will never, ever be played again.
I can't get cards (nobody to trade with) & they are totally unavailable in my country anyhows, so what is the point even owning cards when you have nobody to duel?
Is there anybody else in this situation & how do they manage to even stay in the game? all thx

I am in the same boat. the closest meta around where I live is sixty miles away, and the competition is immature at best, excluding around 3 to 5 people. Have you given thought about either online, IM, or phone dueling? the last two is admittedly very risky, but hey, whatever works. I do phone dueling with a friend that lives twenty miles off, and it seems to work pretty good, provided you have a cordless, with a headset/speakerphone, or a corded with speakerphone. If you can, and are willing, I and more than likely others are willing to duel over IM.

PS, I love teh pic in your sig. that used to be a favorite of mine, second only to Super Chicken.

edit: also, you could always do a trading thread here in the YGO Borough.

I did a lot of phone dueling "back in teh day" and I did some online dueling to. As long as you are with someone that you feel is trusthworthy then it can work, and phone dueling at leat in my experiences was actually a lot more fun then it sounds.

well, seeing as how there are only a few duelists left in my state & I don't have their phone numbers, I guess I have no choice but to do online dueling if I want to continue participation in the game.
Problemo is, I dislike YVD & MSN dueling, but if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes, I guess. I am left with little choice.
I thank you both for your kind words & assistance. :)

Thanks..hehe I remember Super Chicken too.
PPS..I don't know what IM is? lol
PPPS I shall post my trades up soon.

I think I understand your dislike of YVD. It's either it doesn't install right, or the people are total anal retentives. Could be totally wrong, but that seems to be the most common reasons(both being mine, lol). MSN, well, I don't know about IM dueling, never tried it. But goodluck on the online thing. Keep us updated! :)

edit: IM= instant messaging. like MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, and AIM.

Actually, because it doesnt shuffle my deck properly, no matter what I do & it keeps putting cards all over the field, except where I want them to go & a lot of times, underneath my opponent's ones. Most often, I cannot check my opponent's graveyard (it wont let me) and it also d/c's me a lot mid-duel. *hence the reasons I dislike YVD. I have re-installed it 3 times, but it has made no difference, sadly.
Also, there are "anal retentives" everywhere in this game. It's really hard to find people who are not. I prefer my duels to be "civilised". Even if I had the phone number of the remaining duelists, I would not duel them anyhows.
They always gloat when they win & humiliate people when others lose. They all run CC & say every other deck is "crap". When you ask them to "play nice" they tell you to "go kill yourself" or "quit yugioh" they are definately not the kind of duelist I wish to associate myself with.
I have refused to duel them previously on the basis of arrogance. They just made "clucking" noises.
Why have they gotta be like that? Is it just an immature kids game?

Nope. They just haven't had their booty handed to them by a Final Countdown or a Burn Deck enough times to have learned their lesson. Actually, some my never get the chance, being that their attitude is so bad, only people with similar attitude (and by extention, similar decks) will have the patience to play them.

That's why I actually enjoy playing those types of players. Nothing hurts worse then a gracious looser. Except maybe, being beaten by a 65 card deck.

though it does seems that way. I have a perfect way to deal with that, though it isn't very nice. when you come across something(I don't consider immature rugrats people :p) like that, just come back with a basic reply: I'm sorry, I don't speak snob." or even better... are you associated with UDE?(as in signed that little slip of paper) Become a Judge, and then let them little twerps have it.
