Inferno Reckless Summon and Command Knight

SPK

idle mc...
Would Inferno Reckless Summon work on Command Knight, if Command Knight was special summoned (eg through Marauding Captain's effect), to allow all remaining copies of Command Knight to be summoned to the field, or does the ATK bonus of Command Knight make it an ineligible candidate?

Just wondering about it, since the bonus does apply upon summoning, hence why BTH can work on it, so I'm wondering if the ATK increase applies in this case as well...

Umm...you misread it, I said that I know BTH works on Command Knight.

What I'm looking at though is this:

Inferno Reckless Summon
Quick-Play Spell

You can only activate this card when 1 monster with an ATK of 1500 points or less is Special Summoned to your side of the field while there is a face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. Special Summon all cards with the same name as the Summoned monster from your hand, Deck, and Graveyard in face-up Attack Position. Your opponent selects 1 monster on their side of the field and Special Summons all cards with that same name from their hand, Deck, and Graveyard.

Now we know that IRS looks for a monster with an ATK of 1500 or less is special summoned. IMO, this card will be looking at the same timing as with cards such as BTH (I know it may not be the exact thing so don't roast me -_- ), as it is looking for just after the monster has been special summoned.

Extrapolating from BTH, Command Knight only works because when the monster has been special summoned, its ATK boost immediately applies, so that when the point of checking for the ATK of Command Knight as a condition for BTH to be activated, its ATK is now legal for BTH to work, otherwise BTH wouldn't work, right?

Now looking at the text for IRS, it looks for a monster with an ATK of 1500 or less when it is Special Summoned to the field, but by this point, Command Knight's effect has already applied, so the monster special summoned is now 1600 ATK, and thus no longer applicable.

My main concern is: Does IRS look for the current ATK of the monster special summoned, or does it look at the original ATK?

So I want to hear a reason or two, as to if this logic is correct, or correct me where I may have gone wrong.

It is not the matter of it looking for the original or current ATK, it is the fact that whenever a monster is summoned its ATK/DEF are automatically determined the very instance it hits the field. So if I have Water Omatics in my hand, I summon her when I got Umi out, she becomes 1600 ATK the very instant she sets foot onto the field. In this case IRL cannot work for it. Same for Command Knight, IRS will not work for it.

on a simlar matter if i special summon proto-cyber dragon
can i use inferno reckless summon to special summon
3 cyber dragons.
If i special summon proto-cyber dragon activate inferno and
special summon 2 cyber-proto dragons and 2 cyber dragons
or 1 proto cyber dragon and 3 cyber dragons.

Since Proto-Cyber Dragon is treated as "Cyber Dragon" while it's on the field, then "Cyber Dragon" would be the monster(s) that would then be fetched by IRS.

As far as I know, Proto's effect is not optional, otherwise if it was, then it could have worked...

So if you activate IRS in response to the special summoning of Proto-Cyber Dragon, you would only be allowed to special summon "Cyber Dragon"(s) from your deck, not Proto-Cyber.

You would get as many Cyber Dragons are in your Deck, Hand, or Graveyard in that situaiton. Not Proto-Dragon, which is probably going to be one of the deciding factors in it being restricted in the near future.

It won't work under the conditions given, but it will work if Skill Drain is active.
