D. D. Warrior Lady Attacks a face up Ryu Kokki. Is the player controlling D. D. Warrior Lady allowed to remove with D.D.'s effect?

D. D. Warrior Lady Attacks a face up Dark Balter the Terrible. Is the player controlling D. D. Warrior Lady allowed to remove with her effect?

Basically I'm asking if turn play's effect that resolves in the portion of the battle phase when both players resolve effect? I understand when a Balter or Kokki attacks or what not but is it different when the turn player attacks with the D.D.?

I always have to refresh my memory on this one.

D. D. Warrior Lady's effect must be activated a sub-step before Ryu Kokki's (Sub-step 5 for D. D. and Sub-step 6 for Kokki) So D. D. gets to go first if her controller chooses to.

To the best of my knowledge, Dark Balter the Terrible would negate D. D.'s effect. It activates in the same Sub-step she would be destroyed in, so the timing strikes me as being accurate here.

In these cases, the Turn Player is not the issue. Only the portions of the Damage Step these effects are activting in.
