Kuriboh's *(insert bad word)* ruling!!!

I just heard of this at my local tourny and I just wondered if it was real or not...If kuriboh exists on your side of the field face-up could you discard another one from your hand to stop an attack?

I found this on upperdecks website
"Kuriboh" can only be activated while in your hand, its effect cannot be used while "Kuriboh" is on the field.

Okay...  That was a good one (lol)!!!  You misread what the ruling actually meant.

You cant use the Kuriboh that is on the field to protect your life points.  It has to come from your hand.

yeh his effect activates from the hand to the graveyard

Actually his effect activates simply by discarding the card from your hand so it will activate even if "Banisher of the Light" is on the field and he is discarded and removed from play. He doesn't have to go to the graveyard.

Kuriboh
Discard this card from your hand to make the Battle Damage inflicted to your Life Points by 1 of your opponent's monsters 0. This effect can only be activated during your opponent's Battle Phase.

I hope no one is missing the true point of his question...

He originally thought that if there was a face-up Kuriboh on the field already, that if there was battle damage done to his life points, he could not discard the Kuriboh that was in his "hand" because of the Kuriboh on the field.

When in all actuality, the Ruling just meant that you could not pick up the Kuriboh from the field and send it to the Graveyard or remove it from play to protect your life points.

sorry buddy someone mis-informed you! Kuriboh's effect has never changed, if it did it would be posted on either upperdeckentertainment.com/yugioh or the good site netrep.net. Kuriboh must be "discarded" from your hand to stop the damage inflicted through battle to your life points. If kuriboh is on the field he is considered summoned. Whoever told you that you can discard kuriboh from the field. Most likely misread some portion of the card. To discard it must come from the hand.

That'll be cool to use the effect with kuriboh on the field, discard and use it like a field card. But, Kuriboh as handy as he may be isn't that powerful. He's not that type of monster, only one effect to discard. Maybe if there was a kuriboh of choas or something that'll be cool>lol

that's all I gotta say:
