Level Limitation Deck

Yeah the title sucks, but I really don't care. This deck is based on a completely new idea I've been considering for sometime now. I actually built it about 2 weeks ago but I wanted to play test it before I posted. Sadly I haven't had time to test it as I've been busy with college work (I now have 3 weeks off! YAY!).

The main point of this deck is to dump monsters (particularly Skull Servants) to the Grave, while at the same time stopping my opponent attacking. Then I bring out Chaos Necromancer or King of the Skull Servants, and equip it with Opti-Camouflage Armor for a nasty hit. I've included stuff like Nobleman of Extermination to get rid of stuff like Sakuretsu Armor (hence my unusual choice of traps).

I'm quite aware that there are some major flaws with this deck, and some the ideas I didn't have space for (need to make a side deck), but I'd really appreciate help in trying to make this tournament playable. Many thanks...

i love the idea, but the deck looks way to inconsistant. and i dont see exactly how it can easily get many monsters in the graveyard. maybe try Magical Merchants to thin out the deck and chuck monsters in the grave. also, add another widespread or sakuretsu because you definatly need more protection. just try to add lots of cards that will thin through the deck and get lots of monsters in the graveyard to fuel the king of Skull Servants and Chaos Necromancer (which you should add a third one in).

Thanks for your opinions everyone, I have taken them into account and made quite a few modifications. I don't have time right now to explain all the changes, but I'm sure you guys can figure out the changes for yourselves. Please let me know what you guys think, is this better than the original? Any other recomended changes?

Too bad Painfull Choice is restricted, lol.Why does the links still work with the oldest posts, and not with the newest post??? :icon_conf

Maybe a [ycard="AST-039]Monster Gate[/ycard], or a [ycard="DR1-EN029]Reasoning[/ycard]?

I know what you mean BenjaminMS, Painful Choice would be great for this deck. Thanks for the Monster Gate tip. I've also been considering a combo with The League of Uniform Nomenclature and Triangle Power for my side deck.

I've altered my previous post to include a few changes. You may notice that I actually have an extra card now, putting the deck total at 43 (I just couldn't think of which card to drop). Although the deck hasn't been properly tested, it seems to work much faster now. Any suggestions on how to make this a competitive deck will be greatly appreciated.

The following changes have been made:

Monsters:

- 1 Mystic Tomato (I prefer Pyramid Turtle)
- 1 Breaker the Magical Warrior (can't be searched, plus I have Nobleman of Extermination)
+ 1 Pyramid Turtle (deck thining and searching)
+ 1 Toon Cannon Soldier (burns and fits with Toon Table of Contents- see spells)

Spells:

- 1 Smashing Ground
- 1 Card Destruction
- 1 Double Attack (too situational)
+ 3 Toon Table of Contents (deck thining and search TCS)
+ Monster Gate (deck thining)

Traps:

No changes yet to report.

EDIT: After some thought, I am considering dropping my 3 Peten the Dark Clown because I would rather have my monsters stay in the Graveyard so Chaos Necromancer gets a boost. Anybody have any suggested alternatives I can use instead of Peten?

Relinquished is okay, but Thousand Eyes Restrict is better so I'll probably side deck a Metamorphosis when I make my side deck.

Thanks for the Troop Dragon suggestion Ben, but I think I'll stick with my original plan and replace Peten with Masked Dragons. This is for several reasons:

1) They are unaffected by Level Limit and Bind.

2) 1400 ATK is decent for a Level 3 monster.

3) He can be special summoned in DEFENCE mode! (one of the few searchers who can).

4) As far as I can tell, Masked Dragon is better than Troop Dragon in every way possible.

5) I don't actually own any Peten the Dark Clown!

6) DRAGON'S RULE!!! :icon_bigg

Any other suggestions/comments for main deck or side deck?

EDIT: I just thought of two other possible replacements for Peten. Hyena and Giant Germ. They both work better than Masked Dragon for deck thining. Although Giant Germ can't be special summoned in defence, I do like his burn effect. Can I have some opinions on which to use?

So you all know, Peten is a better overall choice than Troop Dragon because it fits the theme and is very consistent. If you wish to run a SSK deck, you need to make it as speedy as possible. This monster line-up could do the trick.

1 DMoC

3 SSK
3 SS
3 Peten
2 Mystic Tomato
1 Breaker
1 Sangan
1 Tsukuyomi
1 Toon Cannon Soldier
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Chaos Necromancer

18 monsters is a great number in this format.

And now to traps, I think you should run Exchange of the Spirit. It's a great card, obviously, and it could mostly work in this deck. Its great late game because you can get back used up SSK's and SS's, and then re-fuel them into powerhouses. Also use 3 Dusts 3 Saks and 3 Solemns. 10 Traps is plenty. 12 Spells should be the essentials, with an extra tech card, WMC. Great game ender.

Since I rated your deck, and very extensively I might add, please join my forums, I need new members. Links in sig. =/

Wake

.. Wake, it seems to be you don't understand his Deck (no offense intended). About your sidedeck Phoenix:
Do you have Prohibition, to prevent Royal Decree from being played? If you have, maybe you could add 1 or 2 of them.
Also, maybe 1 or 2 System Downs, in case you meet some of the more annoying Machine monsters.
Also, maybe side in 1 Gravekeeper's Servant.
Side 1 or 2 Mobius the Frost Monarchs.
Considering the Dragon's that start to be more annoying too, 1 or 2 Dragon Capture Jar's can be nice too :p (However, it remains your choise or you use them)
1-2 Ultimate Offerings can be a idea too, to get monsters quicker on the field in cases you need too.
Gift of the Martyr, Rising Energy, Covering Fire and other attack boosters like that can be good sidedeckers. These can be the fillup for the rest of the room you have.
