Majestic Mech - Ohka: EOJ-EN015 (Lightning Gear - Sakuraka)
Hey, been awhile since I rated a card. I don't know. I've been lazy and decided NOT to rate all those cards in SOI. Meh, sue me.
Anyway, I'll rate some SOI maybe and some upcoming EOJ cards as well as time comes.
Not too sure about the english term, but IMO, this is again, another good card for Skill Drain decks.
First, let's look at the text.
Majestic Mech - Ohka
Fairy/LIGHT/level 6
2400ATK 1400DEF
Effect:
This card can be Summoned without sacrifice. If summon by this way, send this card to Graveyard at End Phase.
So this card effect, you can normal summon without a tribute, but then it'll bust itself with it's own effect at the end Phase. So it's pretty much a bad effect monster but with great 2400ATK stat. And you really do NOT want to tribute summon this card cause then it's pretty much a normal vanilla 2400ATK monster. (We have Luster Dragon #2 for that) But throw in Skill Drain, and it'll negate the "Send itself to the graveyard" nasty side effect. So it's an instant 2400ATK monster. So this card pretty mucyh rivals Chainsaw Insect for Skill Drain Decks. But IMO, this is way better then Chainsaw Insect. The prob with Chainsaw, is that even with skill drain, once it's destroyed as a result of battle, it's still give the foe a card. While this thing, once Skill Drain negate it's "send to graveyard" effect, that's that and no "give your foe a card effect crap" even if Skill Drain dies. (While when Skill Drain dies, Chainsaw Insect will again, donate your foe a card everytime it kills something)
But yeah, the 2400ATK makes it again, a better ATK stat option then the goblin family and a good alternative to Chainsaw Insect.
There's his big brother "Majestic Mech - Goryuu" that you can tribute summon with 1 monster, while it's a level 8 monster, but then it'll send itself to the graveyard just like this bud. The card effect wise, that monster is better as it's a 2900ATK + Pierce effect. But the prob is that it's pierce effect will be negated by Skill Drain, so it's just a 2900ATK monster that you have to tribute summon at least 1 monster. IMO Fusilier is way better then that.
Final Thought. This card is pretty much needs it's own deck theme support like Skill Drain (Where it'll really shine) or some fairy themed deck. (Which EOJ supports alot of) But if I must choose among those two, definately choose a Skill Drain deck for this card. There's plenty of other good fairy monsters then this for a Fairy Themed deck.

It needs it's own deck. I mean, you want to waste your normal summon just to get it destroyed by the end phase? There's Exiled Force that can do better then this if you need to summon a mosnter for monster removal in metagame level wise. (And Exiled Force doesn't need to attack and weak stats so it doesn't trigger stuff like Sakuretsu or Bottomless Trap Hole, while this card does) So again, this card pretty much only shines in Skill Drain from what I can judge and think of so far.
