Ah, good, you join the dark side with saying GW is Optional. But I don't get the second part you say... "Optional" v. "Manditory" usually refer to Activation. I mean, yes, they could trigger, but the activation is usually what is optional or not.

Well, I don't know about the crunch part, but yes, in some states General Mills still sells the Monster cerals...even when it isn't Halloween. I'm snacking on some now.
Actually, I'm saying it's Mandatory. :D

Well, I probably meant to type activation. Then again, I probably just typed wrong. (For those wondering, no, I'm not going to edit my post. That's just silly.) But that's what I was getting at.

I think your just thinking in different terms. Your thinking in the context of a field effect, where effects are actively looking around and if the event happens, you don't have a choice and you have to activate the triggered effect, and that can't happen in the hand. But that's not necessarily what a Mandatory Trigger is. A Mandatory Trigger is, largely by definition, an effect that cannot miss it's timing. The effect is optional, not the ability to play the card. In the hand, all Trigger Effects that can be played, can optionally be played. But that doesn't mean all Trigger Effects, once a player chooses to use them, have optional activation points. If they did, that would mean all the other hand triggers were optional as well, like Kuriboh and Night Assailant.
